AG made a good point about SEC filing in AL.
SEC claims it’s not an entity, just a group of member institutions. If so, it has no juridical personhood sufficient to file suit.
Not sure that’s true, but if true, is a good basis to seek partial dismissal based on no standing

Murrill said Sankey is leaving the court for good today
He's been to enough LSU games to know that you have to beat that Baton Rouge traffic.

Hold in intentional contempt
Lock Sankey up until Monday
Fine the SEC $20 M

the monetary damages to the players could approach $100M.
Whoa.
$100M?
How is this possible? Not doubting you I just truly don't understand. Not a lawyer by any means, but how could the damages be that high?

Rules are only implemented where they see fit not in all cases and thats the problem.
If a judge makes a statement like that the member University Presidents need to be on a conference call tonight and pull the plug on Sankey

Sankey may have well set the SEC back quite a bit.
.... and suddenly, all those programs he thought were supporters, will defend him like like a screen door on a submarine.

Plus, Chambliss got his 6th year of eligibility on a redshirt rule. Redshirts no longer exist. Does this mean he is breaking the rules.
Plus, Ole Miss tried to get these guys and they chose LSU. SO IS ole Miss actively recruiting. Will the SEC sue them, too?
Double standards everywhere.

Heard the interview, basically called it laughable

Their argument is that the guys in Class of 2022 that exhausted eligibility never "Declared" for the draft. It happens by default.
The SEC's argument is that this "declared for a draft" rule is aimed at underclassmen that declared for a draft before their eligibility was exhausted.
Their rule doesn’t say anything about declaring. It says you have to properly withdrawal. Even if its an auto entry, you’d still have to withdrawal.
Just another example of them talking in circles and not really enforcing anything.

I would build a cell in the student section for him on Saturday night.

It looks like the move is to get 5th year guys that weren't quite good enough to get extended look from NFL
So just "kind of" ineligible

Personal distress, anguish, and anything else you can throw against the wall and get to stick!!!
If one of these guys were allowed back, went off in a big way, and lost out on that chance, a jury in a civil court could grant them millions in damages!!!

On a redshirt. They are no longer a factor.

There were 44 plaintiffs originally, though this case reduced to ones that impact LSU in Louisiana. If preliminary injunction granted expect many more NFL cut players eligible under 5-5 to file.
$2M each is not outlandish.

My guess is they are definitely incorporated and they clearly have bylaws and regulations, so they exist as an entity.
They enforce trademarks, etc, so “something” exists, but just not clear on whether they have standing in the capacity they claim.
