Sankeys attorney has been questioning him for a while. Line of questioning is focused around how this will ruin the future of college football if teams are allowed to recruit players cut by the NFL as well as players who will be cut from their college teams and replaced by these NFL players.

We know that both of those points are wrong, but that's the direction the Sec is taking.

I’m just now able to catch up again. Are they still in court?

This is pride getting in the way of reason.

I get it. It should be fair and it isn't.

They are making an example of LSU and its only going to get worse. This level of distraction, bad will, negative press, etc is just not worth it.

It was worth it for OM because Chambliss is a QB

These guys are backups.

Maybe. Maybe not.
Maybe the back-ups are the ones we should be standing up for - not just the starters.

this really is a stupid fight for LSU when the best player they're trying to bring in is a backup TE.

I think this is Lane proving once again that he will go to the mat for players. Frickking beast. I like it.

Then the Big 10 will be on the phone with LSU seconds later and we make more money. If Greg Sankey really goes there he’s going to be a case study as famous as Chrysler and the Delorean

We should, as of yesterday, be on the phone with the Big 10 cutting a deal to get in next season. frick the SEC. Big10 is arguably the better conference now anyway. Might be fun to play Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Indiana every year. frick Bama and it’s Birmingham lapdogs.

If they're suing LSU do they have any proof that LSU colluded with the players? They would have to prevent something here I would imagine? This feels like that will get thrown out unless LSU was dumb enough to give them something to work with. I sure hope we're not that dumb. That's hard to believe.

I don't know who you are but ok. Its pretty clear you are beyond reason or understanding

I think LSU and the players are right and have repeatedly defended them in this thread. Legally, what the SEC is doing and with Hutson in particular is insane.

Its a very minor argument to question whether all of this is worth it. It is not.

Judge said hes aware Sankey will follow the rules until he decides not to follow the rules.

Lawyer got sankey to admit the players in the suit would be eligible under the 5 for 5 rule

some of our fanbase is made up of fricking morons

Currently the attorney for the Vanderbilt player is questioning. He questioned several times about will Vanderbilt be punished if the judge rules in his favor they allow this player to play.

Sankey danced around question and his attorney objected. The question had to asked and danced around/objected to at least 5 times.

Then judge said "I get what you're trying to ask and I see that he is not going to answer, but I understand his answer. He is going to follow the rules and the bylaws until the point that he is not going to follow them anymore"

Biggest one I've seen so far and I've been refreshing for 30 pages

The Big 10 has zero interest in LSU. They don't meet any of the requirements for us to get in particularly in areas like academics.

Man, I love the line of questioning that this opens up on rebuttal.

What are the chances this results in a removal of Sankey and some sort of reorg of the SEC board or whatever they are called?

This might be the way go get LSU out and out of the TV deal to get more $$$$$
Im sure espn will want a discount if there is no LSU and the SEC will get 3 new members. To equal the big 10 and get a new TV deal.
It is always about money never about honor or sport, academics ect always $$$
LSU is already the boogeyman let the them be the scape goat

Bottom line SEC argument fwiw: Louisiana may be able to declare these guys eligible to play college football, but Louisiana cannot force the Southeastern Conference to accept LSU playing them under our banner while preventing us from enforcing our own rules.
You are on the right track.
