No give up on the coach. He was dealt a hand he knew he was taking. I do believe he will be fine next year. Maybe not Championship level, but we will look back and realize he was in a no win situation in year one

We don’t have the horses this year, which is why we keep fading in the second half

They don’t appear to be any coming next year either…

ETA. Never mind, I’m responding to the post of an absolute moron. Shouldn’t have wasted my time.

This year no G play and too many TO in the second half in most games. Coach MM will be fine once he gets his players in, he's a good coach. Right now no depth and no quality SEC G's.

No troll but I’ve read this a lot so it must be true that no studs are coming -

but IF he somehow finds his wallet, are there still some studs available for purchase or have they already chosen their destination?

In other words, if WW was hired tomorrow, I’d bet my arse that he’d find his wallet, and then find some horses to spend it on.

This is where I get frustrated with MM and he hasn’t even had a real off-season yet.

I don’t know if my criticism is warranted.

Ole Miss is about to hire a great coach in Beard if reports are true. We will be stuck with McMoribund for another 3 or 4 years paying out his contract and buyout. Get used to the bottom half of the SEC.

I cannot fathom how that is possible.

There will be studs in the portal. It's too early to tell. Let the season get over and see where the dominos fall!

I certainly have concerns in the direction, but I sure hope you are right.

Enjoyed seeing the boys win one last night. I think Fountain being out forced CMM to play guys some minutes that he otherwise would not have an two of those guys really helped us win last night.

I think I see the problem?
What you consider "Big" is much different than normal fans. Barely beating the second worst team in the Conference is not a landmark victory. Now, if we beat Vandy, then Kentucky, time to take notice. Even though KY has played like shite many times this year. But I will allow it.

That depends on how many spots he has available.

As of now, KJ is the only scholarship player we know for sure is leaving. However, LSU has two HS signees. So we know at least one more spot has to open up.

Miller
Hannibal
Hill
Fountain
Hays
Coleman

have all used their "one free transfer". That means they can't transfer again without a waiver from the NCAA or being a grad transfer. The NCAA came out a few months ago and said they would be much stricter on granting waivers. It's hard to see McMahon telling those guys to hit the road without them having an opportunity to land somewhere else for next season. So, unless some turn pro or graduate this semester, LSU may be "stuck" with them (judge that how you will).

Wilkinson and Justice Williams haven't used their free transfer yet. Obviously the true freshmen haven't either. I'm expecting 2-5 of those guys won't be back. No doubt McMahon will utilize the portal. The questions are to what degree can he AND, more importantly, can he get anyone worth a damn when he does.

I genuinely hope he proves me wrong, but I haven't had such a bleak outlook on LSU basketball for at least a decade, probably more.

I keep referencing this on my show because reading it drives me nuts. College basketball is a transfer portal game. Look at the SEC all conference teams.

Colin Castleton, Oscar T, Mark Sears, Boots Radford, Ricky Council, Johni Broom, Liam Robbins, Jahvon Quinnerly. The list goes on and on. They're all transfers. Getting high level high school players is part of the puzzle, but it's not nearly the entire puzzle. Five to seven guys who will be on next year's roster play for Toledo, Washington State and Memphis (I just made all those up). If you're just going to pile on the coach because he's got 2 HS kids signed who aren't Top 25 players, it just feels to me like you just want a reason to complain.

I have no idea if Matt McMahon is going to have a great run at LSU or a short one. This year has been disappointing. But pointing to this roster and then the two HS kids and proclaiming 2023-24 dead is just nonsensical.
