The oline wasnt good but do yall think the o line talent at schools like Baylor 2-3 years ago or Ole Miss 2-3 years ago was significantly better? Hell no.

Do yall think the WR talent at each of those are better-Hell no.

Why do they have wide open receivers with plenty of time?-Scheme.

The 4th and 5th corner at every school except for the top 5 defenses cant cover. The drops are quick 3 step or even just stand and throw. The lines arent expected to hold their block for 5 seconds. Its a quick cut block to get their hands down and thats it.

Until we get a real OC with a scheme from this century we will continue to get the same results.

Yup. We continue to struggle to get wide receivers consistently open. Makes no sense.

We had one. He’s now undefeated at Maryland.

Poor scheme can be covered by exceptional talent along the line (see 2013). If don’t have elite talent along the line, you have to adjust the scheme. LSU has tried to force personnel into a scheme for Ensmingers entire career here. Why the frick did some expect anything different?

The bad thing is, all we heard all off season was that we are running a West coach Off. Last night was the exact opposite of that.

That’s why Ensminger was brought in. People were beating down the doors get coach E as offensive coordinator.

Exactly this guy gets it. Visiting the Rams n Saints was propaganda. What I saw was the same Ensminger from 20 years ago. Our backs could have had 150 yards though the air if E throws to the flats. No adjustments. No quick slants or screens to help the Oline. And when E was interim OC all that he was having to call Cameron’s offense was bs. Cams playbook was a massive pro scheme with a huge variety of concepts. It was the same play calling from his OC days 20 years ago. I hoped he would adapt his offense but he hasn’t at all

So you are saying LSU coached and play called down to their opponent. If that is actually true I want every MFer on the offensive side in the building fired right now. Starting with the head man.

Not saying I disagree with you BUT, we sure did have a lot of open receivers last night and against Miami. Looked to me like burrow was holding the ball too long and staring down receivers instead of getting the ball out on time which leads to sacks because of inconsistent line play. Just saying that’s what I saw.

And ALL of the pumpers were in denial and shoving the O crap down everyone’s throats. All the while, the realists...or nega-tigers...we’re waiting for this EXACT thing to happen. Sad

Ensminger has called Etling gameplans w Burrow at QB.

You can see that Burrow is a better runner and able to make quicker decisions, but our design and execution has done nothing to take advantage of that fact.

The hope is that this has been by design thus far. Anyone watching the Saints game saw their TD pass just before half can see how easy it is to line up 2 receivers and run a route that gives your QB 2 quick options that do not require any protection.

LSU has a lifetime NFL receiver coach. Surely they know this and are not wanting to use this on film vs SELA the week before their SEC opener.

One can hope and pray anyway. LOL

Every single year the OL sucks and we blame it on talent. I’ve said for years that this scheme doesn’t allow the OL to succeed.

Sure it does; max protect, run 2 receiver 15 yr routes against 5 in coverage because your max protect can't block 6 and nobody will ever get open.
