we're talking about a guy who sold his defensive captain up the river in an effort to save his own arse. Gregg Williams is a low life piece of shite and I hope he never finds employment again

Again, if any of this is true, you're basing your assumptions of a gameplan that was relayed to the opposing team?
If your gameplan was given away, of course it's going to look terrible.
I agree Prom, but come on. We tried to hammer the ball off tackle and run sweeps that worked in the first game all night. That was as creative as it got. I think everyone and their grandmother knew how to defend LSU that night.
Now, none of that takes away from how shady this is, if true.

but I don't think it went any further than that.
How do you know? You don't think college football coaches look for any and every shortcut to a W?
You think if Gregg Williams went into Saban's office and said that he watched LSU in their practices, "I have their gameplan", Saban is just going to say, "No thanks. Let's just do it the right way."

I'd like that to happen, but him to live through it to experience the max amount of pain.

This!!! Williams has really turned out to be one of the biggest pieces of shite in the coaching profession if not the biggest.

Me too. I heard they paid hookers to keep JJ out all night and helped buy him drinks and such so he would play like crap.

I have thought something like this went down ever since the 9th. Oh, by the way, apparently the whole gameplan was changed at the last minute
AND Greg is a dirty mother fricker

It's factual that Saban did consult with Williams in the wks prior to the game, specifically how best to counter the option play. Williams recommended making the bama DL spread out wider, with bigger gaps between the DE's and DL. This came from Williams himiself & was a direct quote in the Times Picayune 2 wks later. What T Bob is alleging takes this to a whole new level, as he said that Saints coaches watched their practices in the Dome that wk & strongly implied that they/Williams then relayed info to the bama staff. He also said that the players are very aware who the refs are for each game, noting that one ref who consistently hurt them over the course of one season was a bama alum ( he did not ref any bama/LSU games themselves) & was indignant that a bama alum would be allowed to be in that position for any SEC game. FWIW.

I'll eat crow of this turns out to be true, but my strong feeling is that this is paranoid loser talk. OU fans made a similar charge against LSU when we beat them in the MNC. I remember thinking at the time that they were whiny sore losers.
Alabama out played us last year in the MNC. They were ready, we weren't. Jefferson was not a championship quarterback, plain and simple. Alabama exploited that, and they took what our defense gave them.
Let's move on and have confidence in our team to shock the oddsmakers. They've given us plenty of reason to believe in the past.

True. Maybe so.....
But let's look back and even to this day, people are plenty upset that Miles never came out and said anything about the NCG other than a whole lot of nothing. No explanations. No reasoning why the offense looked like it did.
Now, hearing this, how does it sound if Les comes out into the media and accuses the New Orleans Saints staff for relaying information to Bama staff? How does that make Les look not only to his own fan base, but to the entire country?

When we played Oklahoma in the 2003 National Title game, Nick had LSU personnel hiding in the suites watching Oklahoma's practices in the Superdome. I don't think Oklahoma practiced more than once or twice in the Dome, but Saban was watching.
We can look past this indiscretion.....
Too bad Greg Williams couldn't do shite for the Saints in the playoffs last year....I'm not sure I'd want his arse helping my team.
:49er's game still stings:

What would Greg Williams have to gain by doing this? The Saints staff would have absolutley nothing to gain, and everything to lose, by spying on LSU practices to relay information to Nick Saban. Meeting with a coaching staff and sharing coaching tips is pretty common place. But actually going out of your way to "spy" on one team, especially the team from the home state of your current employer, is a much different story.

Saban is just going to say, "No thanks. Let's just do it the right way."
No doubt Saban would take any information given to him.

Legit accusation.....maybe. Just doesn't ring true to me.
OF COURSE it rings true. You know there are now 2 separate recruiting rules targeted at Saban's recruiting methods? And recording an opposing team's practices? That's straight out of the Belichick (one of Saban's mentors) playbook. How much of a stretch is it to have a spy?
