2002 when Mauck got hurt @ UF, Marcus Randall played the following week at home against South Carolina, and had a great game. I thought we were about to coast to the SECW title (would have been back to back SECC appearances) and Mauck would never get the job back. The next week at Auburn was a total disaster.

I believed Will Campbell’s Joe Burrow-type talk in camp last year - “yall don’t know what we have but we do.”

I wanted Kenny Hilliard to start over Jeremy Hill in 2012 and 2013. I was wrong.
My very first bad take in my life was when I was like 12 and I thought Chevis Jackson sucked. Then 2007 happened and I had my first lesson in guys improve.

quote:just cuz you were wrong and can’t admit it doesn’t mean you have to group us all in with you. He was a 5th year returning starting QB who was incredibly athletic. In his first season at LSU he was a top 5 heisman favorite going into the final regular season game against A&M and had just had a string of terrific Heisman level performances. LSU was ranked top 10 in the country and still had an outside shot at a playoff berth if we won out. Of course he played like shite and fell out the heisman conversation and that’s the taste everyone had left in their mouth headed into the offseason but I was completely onboard with him having a heisman season the following year.

didn’t have much faith in Jayden after his first season in BR.
Couldn’t have been more wronger
You and everyone else, anyone who says different is full of shite. Jayden made a superman leap year 2.
He exceeded my expectations obviously but that’s besides the point

didn't read the responses but if the ones who were saying Brennan should start over Burrow haven't fessed up people aren't being honest lol

Sitting in the student section as an LSU freshman after losing to Ole Miss in 2001: "Saban is terrible, he's never going to win anything".
I may have been more wrong at some point in my life, but I certainly can't recall it.

Walking out of the 2001 Kentucky game in Lexington, where we scored with about 10 seconds left on a TD catch by Michael Clayton, I told my father-in-law, "This team is not going to win the SEC."

I thought Lou Tepper was going to be a great DC at LSU instead of a colossal failure.

I had a friend who swore that TJ Finley was going to be awesome after his one good game...

Not LSU specific, but when he was at Alabama, I was convinced there was no way Jalen Hurts would have a successful NFL. Without a stop at Oklahoma, I probably would have been right.

Back in the day ... I thought Jamie Howard was going to be an All-SEC QB.
More recently, I thought Trey Holley was going to be at least a reliable second running back for the Tigers.

After the 2022 Tennessee home loss I wanted to bench Daniels and play Nuss.

I still have the Alexandria Daily Town Talk article introducing Nick. It says Million Dollar Man. But I had just live through the 90's and had no faith.

To be fair, that team was 10-2 and should have beaten Alabama to be 11-1. Les didn't go for the kill when he had the chance. If LSU beats Alabama, they likely go on to beat BK and Notre Dame for the National Championship.
Yes, Tyrann absolutely would have helped...and maybe provided the slight edge necessary to win the two losses. But that LSU team was really good even without him

After the Arkansas game Jennings completed 2 passes and ran for a first down. The former was a winning TD pass.
I said looking over recruiting and returning players, to my LSU buddy
“Well at least we’ve got our QB of the future, that was the thing about next yrs team that was bothering me the most, NOT NOW!” I exclaimed as the buzzer sounded. Ugh

lol fans need to feel hope. But yeah I’d personally be shocked if we won this game.

Bet on every single one of the last 5 openers because I legit thought we were the better team

No way we have 2 running backs on the same team involved in murder cases.

Sounds like Miami in the late 80s
