Trusting analytics which said punt and trust Defense ranking.

What he learned :
1.Trust what you know..Your and Charlie's offense
2. Don't trust Blake in crucial moments .
3. He bet on his DC a mistake he will not let happen again.

Bonus..Blake's stock dropped heavily yesterday

Exactly. I don't think he will make that mistake again. Baker is not the DC you want when you need a stop to win the game.

Probably Blake himself. He sure isn't preparing a good defensive game plan.

Baker deserves all the criticism he got for yesterday. He was out-coached.

Baker gets a pass for letting Chambliss score 100 points. No excuse for allowing Kentucky to do it too.

Baker lost a lot of people at this point.

the Sad thing is Baker has let his money do his thinking.
NOTE TO BLAKE

Do not equate what your contract is to your ability to Coach defense

You proved we over paid you.

Only Blake cane earn his paycheck

It starts today

When was or has Baker been on the level of Chavis. That 2011 defense is 1 of the best ever if not the best

I think he should’ve gone for it on the 4th &1 as well, but he had also just watched his QB make one of the dumber decisions I’ve ever seen on the drive before.

1. Didn't try to make the 4th and one.
2. Should have gone for two after our touchdown OT since he should have known Kentucky would do so if they scored.
3. Kiffin shouldn't have called his last timeout when they were going to be stuffed if they tried to run it in.
4. Baker left the middle wide open for their QB to score the final two points.

The analytics said go for it in this situation 1,000 out of 1,000 times. He betrayed his belief in analytics and it cost him.

I don't think "trust" is the best word here. Blake is an excellent DC. It's not that we shouldn't "trust" him. But maybe he should have placed more trust in his and Charlie's offense in that scenerio. It's very risky since you're on your own side of the field, still. But, you gain the 1 yard needed to move the chains, and the game is over.

Too little too late for this season. He has seen Baker from the otherside. This should not have been a surprise.
