5* Ahmad Hudson seems to be entrenched to Nebraska
WTF are you talking about. He's committed to LSU and will be at LSU.
quote:
5* Easton Royal appears to get away
He doesn't care about playing for LSU and state. He's looking for the most money to the extent, he's willing to go to an offense that isn't as WR friendly. LSU should NOT overpay for highschool kids, no matter where they live.
quote:
5* Albert Simien all but locked to Notre Dame
Again, we don't need to overpay for a smaller OL. There was talk that the LSU staff didn't grade him as highly as the recruiting services did.
quote:
5* Elijah Haven to 'Bama
We have Houston who fits the offense better, so we never pushed hard here.
Hudson is the most important of these 5* and LSU has him committed. Maybe something changes with Royal, but if he's looking at $ first, then he'll stay at UF.

Why come here if you ignore the best players in your backyard. The portal players are not near as good as the ones in HS now within 150 miles from BR.

In state high-school players are not as valued as they once were. Kiffin has already said he would rather pay guys who he thinks are going to play significant minutes. Very few freshman do that in CFB and he does not want that $ invested with very little production in return. On offense with T. Green out, I don’t believe any starter is from Louisiana. Pretty eye opening how things are changing.

Until the rules change, spending a shite ton of money on unproven H.S recruits seems like a huge waste of money

Royal can go lose in Florida.
Hudson will be a Tiger
Haven..who cares. Pop is very good QB
Simien might be good but he was never truly considering LSU anyway
There are other good players at each of those positions I am sure Lane and company have eyes on.
Don't sleep on 2028 WR/CB Eli Bullock, 2029 QB/CB TJ Small, and 2028 RB/LB Jeremiah Christian from Montgomery High School and also a few players from ASH in Alexandria for 2028.
There will be plenty of diamonds in the rough.

Saban would have got all of them.
But there won’t be a saban for another 30 years.
It is what it is

May be but if we don't pay someone else will

If y'all think Louisiana talent isn't a priority to Lane and he'd rather pay portal players then why on earth do you think he left Ole Miss in the middle of their playoff run to come to Louisiana?
The portal is the only way he could win in Oxford. Not necessarily the case here. Fence in our state.

The work on the 2027 guys was mostly done. the relationships being built with the class of 2028 and beyond is the real mark of Kiffin’s staff.
People said the same thing about O with his first class and losing several players to Bama, and he’s Mr Louisiana. The next year he reversed that trend.
This is not worth getting bothered over unless it happens again next year.

Let them make $ get some experience and come home when they are ready to play. I think we will be getting Louisiana transfers.
