I hope he’s not blowing smoke up our asses because Sam’s outing against Mississippi State has me a bit in the wait and see camp on him.

It was sam and Jordyn Tyson against Mississippi state. We don’t have a Jordyn Tyson but they didn’t have a Trey’Dez Green, Harlem Berry, Jordan Seaton, braelin Moore, and Charlie Weis calling plays

Do people realize he played more than one game in his college career? Pretty sure every QB but Mendoza and Trinidad had at least one stinker last year.

True.
He played great @ Texas Tech to give them their only regular season loss last year.
The MSU comparison is because it is an SEC team. He didn't just play poorly vs. MSU last season. He did so the season before too. 10/20 for 69 yards 0 TDs (though he had two rushing TDs). Of course, he played a much better SEC team that year too (Texas) and performed much better.
For me, I err on the side of Lane Kiffin because all of his QBs at Ole Miss were good, regardless of how they played prior. Until Kiffin doesn't produce a top 3 SEC offense I assume this year will be no different.

He has played in more than one game as a starter. Even Burrow had some stinkers in 2018 and he turned out to be ok.
