It depends on whether we are committed to a major investment in our OL in the portal. Unless we are willing to buy some talent in the trenches, it makes no sense to waste 2 mil on a RB.

It’s shocking how many don’t understand that our poor OL play was almost entirely on coaching. Our offensive scheme this year was complete dogshit.

Do you all really think Ole Miss, Vandy, Mizzou have more talent on the OL than we do? The talent is there. They need: (1) an OL coach that knows WTF he’s doing (I.e. not Brad fricking Davis) and (2) an OC that knows how to scheme. Hopefully we’ll have both next year.

Go watch the tape on Ole Miss from this year. They use a ton of unbalanced formation to get leverage on the play side.

I don't think the current OL talent at LSU is necessarily the problem.

Except for DJ Chester, I agree with you.

Go look at Kiffins OL’s from years past.

Basically all 3 stars.

We have a coach that knows what the f*ck he is doing…and Brad Davis was shown the door.

I love Lacy and he’s arguably the best running back we’ve ever had.

But I will be next level pissed if Ole Miss pays him $1.8 million dollars. You don’t spend that much on a running back unless it’s Reggie Bush

I’ll duck out now and go back to the rant
Disagree. And in a big way.

Running backs are a dime a dozen in the NFL, because they dont last long with the physical pounding.
That's irrelevant to the college game. In college, a great back can make an otherwise decent team a championship contender. Get one and run the frick out of him.

Well, Lacy will be the closest thing to a D. Henry caliber RB in the portal this year and a preseason Heisman candidate if at LSU. Maybe that's worth $2 mill.

Heisman RBs don't average 5.0 yards per carry.

How much you willing to bet Lacy won't be a top 10 Heisman favorite going into next season if he comes to LSU?

Spend the 2 mill on an OL and roll with 29 and 22. They can tote the mail

That's like going to a fine dining restaurant for your Christmas work party and your boss says get what you want everything is on the house. You decide to get a bud light instead of a pappy 20 and order a select sirloin instead of prime bone in ribeye.

Berry is a beast. A freshman,.. & running behind that line? Next year he's going to explode, assuming we address our offensive line problems properly

Point being one new RB with this Oline situation will not be any different than last year.

It's not like that in any way; literally, hyperbolically or metaphorically.

Don't want. He's a Rebel.

College football is worse than the NFL at this point. Hopping around year to year.

I’d rather spend it on making sure we have a top 5 oline

Dude, you are going to have to jump on board to the reality of today's college environment. The portal makes your sentiment history. Many of us don't like it, but see the necessity to adapt. But LSU has adapted in the quest for championships.

A 2026 version of peak LF7 or DG5 would be worth 2mil.

I love all of these silly posts worrying about how much money is being paid to a player, lol. Until it’s regulated, this IS College Football and LSU is paying the players,NOT YOU. It’s not YOUR money so stop whining about how much money this player or that player gets and be grateful that LSU has the money to spend. We’re going to field the best team that our money can buy, just like everyone else will.

I am not the fan of the NFL that I once was, but can't see a world where I don't follow lsu sports.

That’s in pro football. A single top-level back can dominate in college football and the lack of career longevity, which is a major issue with RBs in the NFL, isn’t a concern in a 4-5 year college window.
