This is what you say when you have one of the best coaches in the sport.

When Captain buck tooth fails at AU look for them to hire this guy.

A friend and I were talking about this the other day, not so much because of LSU of FSU, (which he's a fan of) but assuming one or two coaches like Smart or Sark or Day go to the NFL, who would be up next for major programs?

Here's a question, do we think Woodward can do such with football?

Honestly no I don’t, Woodward has too much pressure and there’s too much money riding on the football program for him to take a chance on anyone who isn’t a “well established” whale hire like BK, and IMO the next star isn’t a guy who’s been around for 20 years at a major program but hasn’t won the big one.

I think he’d rather play it safe on the coach and spend a ton of money on players to try to win a natty with a safe-on-paper-but-not-elite-upside coach, which I think is a bad strategy. IMO we’d be better off going for massive home run hires and missing on a few and finding the football version of Jay Johnson than giving a mega contract to someone who’s going to milk it into retirement, but that’s just my unpopular opinion

The guy at Iowa St. He does great with a roster of 3* talent and minimal resources.
Really Hope we go after him when it’s time…..

who would LSU even hire?

Jon Fricking Gruden.

He's available and would take the job.

Oh my god, he used a "Bad Word" in an e-mail.

He's the best available. Get him in here and don't look back...........

I’ll tag onto your post. I’ll say that LSU’s next HC isn’t on anybody’s radar right this minute. He’s out there, but not one of the trendy names.

Hopefully Kelly takes what he has done (stabilizing things a bit) and ups the level into a CFP team for the next few years. Ideally, he hits the jackpot, hands the program over to the next guy.

I cant see LSU hiring any individual that has absolutely no coaching experience in college football.

Orgeron was like 16-27 when he was hired. some would argue that is worse than no experience.

Don't know if it will be at LSU, but I think Baker will be a head coach someday. He has a proven record where his defenses continually get better and play hard. He is a great recruiter and seems to have a great connection to his players.

I’d be surprised if Jon Sumrall isn’t a successful coach at a major program sometime within the next few years.

Kenny Dillingham, Fran Brown, Kelvin Sheppard, Lincoln Riley, Mike Norvall if I got asked today to choose the next HC for LSU, these would be my starting candidates.

Only solid candidate IMO: Jon Sumral (likely waiting on Kentucky to open).

While I’d rather not engage in you idiotic hypothetical, LSU should never be concerned about going head to head with Kentucky for a HC.
