We also didn’t game plan or anything.

For a while I thought I was watching Les Miles out there trying run up the middle into a wall

They gave a blueprint on how to limit us. We kept trying to run the ball up the middle with defenders stacking the middle. If you can't run up the middle, find a different play.
They limited us about as good as they could and we still had 528 yards.

The truth is that we still don't really know what LSU has at this point. LA Tech was the perfect sandwich game scenario...super high last week, and a game that has been pointed to all offseason next week.
I would have preferred the machine-like performance from last week...but there is no reason for panic. Panic is stupid and no way to prepare to play football...panic for no reason causes self-inflicted wounds and is a flaw that hopefully we don't have.

LSU won’t be playing against a 3-3-5 stack either the rest of the year.
LSU struggled mightily for an entire half and still scored 45 on them. That’s not too bad still considering we never scored over 25 points against anyone with a pulse all last year.

Yeah, it's very troubling Kiffin/Weiss didn't open up the entire playbook
Agreed

False. Mississippi State runs a 3-3-5 defense.

We ran a vanilla scheme. Trust Lane & Co to fix it. Maybe he wanted to confirm his concern w/ middle gap issues? Maybe he’ll be holding his OC and OLC accountable to get it together come Saturday.

You severely underestimate Kiffin's ability to adjust in a game to scheme around it.
He isn’t scheming around talent on the Oline and WR.

There was no BLUEPRINT, we still racked up over 500 yrds of offense.

This x 1000. If LSU takes care of the ball and takes the FG with no 100yd pick six the score looks different and LA Tech never even sniffs scoring, until 2nd team players are inserted. I mean you talking 50 or so to 0.
Seems odd on a Lane Kiffin team, because of his offensive prowess, but the team needs remember, sometimes a punt to pin someone deep or a FG is huge, with how great the defense is playing.

La tec is a good football team

It sure seemed to me like LaTech was just a better team than Clemson.

This a problem I mentioned last night. No creativity which I didn’t expect out of kiffens offense.
I think this is way more of a 1 time event as opposed to a trend. The running game was creative against clemson

Omg that is not how I works. Teams just don't start running a 3-3-5.

This. It’s the defensive version of the triple option. Preparing for it In a Week, can present issues
Posted on 9/13/26 at 2:43 pm to thumperpait
Yeah, because Coach Kiffin is going to pull out all the stops against LA Tech. Are you a retard?
Posted on 9/13/26 at 2:52 pm to thumperpait
The tech defense is like studying for a triple option offense. It’s a one off

The scheme was one thing, but La Tech players played tremendously aggressive and made tons of open field tackles behind the line. So you have to credit their players. Even with that though, LSU still figuring out a way to score 45 is pretty good.
La Tech’s LB corps is very good, maybe even one of the best we will see this year (as a group) and it showed in the first half. As someone else mentioned, they stopped our run plays on 1st and 2nd down in the first half. Gotta give them credit. I’m glad we played them this weekend. It gave our offense a workout and we will be better for it.
