My high school coach would like a word. He comes off as a travel ball coach.

More like a travel ball coach that wishes he was a high school coach.

when you KNOW your opponent is big time, but you're on heater and play it down like your opponent is nothing.................then they end your 26 game win streak, that is how you act. people who really are ALL THAT, don't come out whining because an ump shoooshed you.

the run was over, the fun was over, reality was settling in and his true colors showed up. we all know that they all knew who LSU was and is, and i'm all for them being confident, but when you get to the cocky side and dismiss a historical baseball program like LSU, that leads you to act like an arse and become the victim.

Jay said in an interview before the CWS Finals that he wanted him as an assistant coach here at LSU. He knew that he would get the CC job so he decided to not hire him. He did not want him to come to LSU for a year only to be hired away.

Well,… we dodged a bullet! He would be a cancer to this program and would undermine what Jay represents.

He's the travel ball coach that makes his team run foul poles after a loss, calls for bunts, puts in a pinch runner for chubby 10 year olds. He screams at high school umpires for not calling every pick off attempt a balk, and gets pissed when his players play other sports in the off season. We've all met this guy if your kid played little league.

He is not going to leave unless hes fired. He played there then spent over 20 years there as an Assistant Coach before becoming the Head Coach. He is not going to leave for another school. And he has a solid program that can compete for Championships albeit a little differently then a Power House school in the SEC but they still can so he isn't going to leave for another program unless hes forced to.

He might have been a winner. But when it counted most, he acted like the biggest loser in college baseball. Show some self control and stop trying to bully your way through.

While you are not wrong…..

You think either of these guys would flourish in an NIL/open portal world?

The day of the vein on the forehead angry my way or the highway coach is gone. At least in college. It’s why saban retired.

How long was Skip an assistant?

If you are a long term LSU fan, you have seen Skip chew out an Ump much more severely.
And I was cheering him on.

as everyone loves to say about any successful program before LSU came to prominence, "those were the old days" coaches pay was shite back then, Skip was a Miami guy and was holding out for his dream job, no comparison to a normal jawing with an ump, especially if justified, what the CC coach did was bush league and definitely threw his team off, they were mentally defeated after their coach made an arse of himself and got tossed

Umpire was wrong for ejecting him. Again just because you are an official it doesn’t make you a god who can’t be told something. The ump may of been having a bad day, so he needs too get over himself warm the coach walk him back to the dugout and be done. If this is still going on an inning are 2 later then eject him. All he has done is made the game about him. A real good official goes unnoticed. It doesn’t matter the sport.

So you are saying the umpire was wrong, but the NCAA brought out the rule book and confirmed the umpire did exactly the right thing. CC coach came out of the dugout and was overly aggressive in their faces after several warnings. CC coach did it to himself, he has no one to blame but himself. Stop playing the victim card and act like a professional. He has a reputation among umpires that he argues balls/strikes, etc, and has gotten away with it. But this time he let his emotions get the best of him and was overly aggressive. He came to the 2nd game with an attitude and messed with the wrong umpire.

He did make a comment about his entire staff doing a lot of yelling at their players

Guy is a douche

Probably hurt his recruiting too

I think you underestimate the willingness for schools to pay for talent. I still believe he will get a bag somewhere soon.

It’s interesting. I think there are different types of coaches for different types players. They can choose.
