I heard today from the LHSAA, that all of these kids that have left HCA and gone to other schools may not be eligible because the school is open and nothing has been said about it shutting down yet. I would be very careful and not play any of these kids yet until something is in writing. I know the adults are getting arrested, but the boys that did this to the younger kids should never be allowed to play any high school sport again. They are predators. If any college wants one of these kids the coach should be immediately fired. No second chances on sexual assault cases. These people are severely sick.

Hamilton Christian shutting down

Posted by elmo 57 on 11/16/25 at 12:22 pm
Heard Hamilton Christian in LC shutting down in January. Three arrest were made Friday due to tampering with evidence and cyber bullying. Back in August rumors were going around about sexual assault on the football team. Does anyone know what is going on?
I got to talk to a guy that used to work for the lhsaa. He said Bonine wants out trying to get them to buy out his contract like BK at LSU. He thinks Federico would be hired and that the one time transfer may get passed. He also said the Lhsaa has more than enough money after all of the ticket increases at state championship events. Also said the executive committee made a big mistake giving him an extension and that the new director needs to be from in state.

Does anyone in the Virginia area know if this is a prep school a regular high school or an academy like IMG. Just saw the football team is pretty good and the girls basketball team has one of the best point guards in the nation. Who started this and how much money did it cost them?

Allen parish missing the boat

Posted by elmo 57 on 10/7/25 at 7:46 pm
Just saw where Calcasieu parish teachers are getting an 8500 dollar bonus for October. Vernon teachers and support personnel got a big bonus during the summer. Jeff Davis I think got a bonus. Cameron is fixing to raise teacher pay 21% thanks to LNG. What about Allen parish for years they have been unable to do anything for their teachers now they have the chance. Exxon is trying tto give them money, but for some reason the apsb will not take it. Regardless of everyone’s feelings the co2 is coming through Allen parish. So why not take it? I am pretty sure the school board is putting pressure on the superintendent not to take the money, his contract is coming up for renewal. But it was ok for everyone in the school board to get a raise but not one teacher. How fair they even went as far as to create new jobs and give those people a raise. Assistant 1 and 2. It is amazing how ignorant the powers that be in this parish are. Exxon is to the point that no one is going to get a thing. Then what happens does the police jury even know how to tax this. Better take what we can get before we get nothing. Fixing to be a mass exodus of teachers to Calcasieu parish

I haven't been able to go to a game yet due to work. Just wondering does anyone in division 4 have a chance to beat them? I know Washington is extremely athletic, anyone else on the team at his level?

Carbon capture

I heard from a teacher at one of the schools in Allen Parish that a meeting was held with the coaches of one of the schools. They were told not to take any money from Exxon and Oxy and if they did then the older people of the community would never support any school tax. Then it came out the police juror in Ward 4 took money to repair a road. This is the same man who is fighting Exxon and oxy. So it is ok for him to take the money but no one else can . Also if they don’t vote in those school taxes the school would eventually be shut down. Amazing how such a little community can have so much drama. I say take the money because it is probably more than the tax money. This is the year 2025 and some of these people are still playing Huey P . Long politics. Huey would have taken the money and run.

Entitlement

Posted by elmo 57 on 8/9/25 at 6:02 pm
Why do so many people think they are entitled to whatever they want in the workplace. I just saw a man quit his teaching job because he is an 11 month employee. Due to the fact that he will have to go to work next July. This has always been the policy everywhere else as far as schools go. This guy had just gotten use to doing what he wanted because he was friends with the former superintendent. I just don’t understand people things change. None of his money was going to be taken away. I guess even as adults we can be spoiled rotten. Some people just have to grow up.
I do not care where you play at if you are good enough the colleges will find you. Also if you are good enough you will get to the next level. All of these people telling these kids do this and do that are crazy. Just like kids specializing at young ages playing one sport helps the other. If you don’t believe listen to Flying Coach with Pete Carroll, Steve Kerr, and Dave Roberts they will put all of these so called great one sport coaches in their place.

High school Football

Anyone have an idea who will be the top teams in select and non select and each division? Also any real good games that anyone knows to go and watch?
Umpire was wrong for ejecting him. Again just because you are an official it doesn’t make you a god who can’t be told something. The ump may of been having a bad day, so he needs too get over himself warm the coach walk him back to the dugout and be done. If this is still going on an inning are 2 later then eject him. All he has done is made the game about him. A real good official goes unnoticed. It doesn’t matter the sport.

APSB

Posted by elmo 57 on 6/11/25 at 4:19 pm
Well according to reports the APSB has approved the 2 new assistant superintendents and they also will give pay raises to the school board staff, one board member voted against the raises. Teachers on the other hand will not receive any raise. No surprise for APSB they have given theirselves raises many times over the years it always seems to happen when a new superintendent goes in and after the first couple of years of their contract. So it seems to me that if the teachers were smart and banded together they may need to strike or walkout then maybe they could get something done then. This would be great to see such a small parish could make major changes in teacher pay.
Great job by those 2 girls to not take the stand next to AB. This is so stupid watching this crap being put out there for everyone to see. Males versus females in athletic competition is so unfair and so wrong. Whoever is in charge of the cif sports in California needs to have their head examined. As bad as the Lhsaa is I would hope they would not ever let this happen, but Bonine is from Nevada so who knows. Makes me sick to look at this junk. How can you as the parents of AB even be proud knowing this is wrong. Again I guess it is my fault for expecting more of people.

re: School Administrators

One thing I failed to mention was the SPS scores. Schools are judged by these and administrators at both levels are to chicken crap to do what is right and worry about what the score will be. You get points for different things that are done right test scores etc.and you lose points if you have to many suspensions and expulsions. So consequently things that use to be taken care of are now let go and then you have bigger problems. If the parents don’t know how to raise their kids and the schools are responsible then they should be able to discipline them. When the paddles were taken out then discipline really dropped off. So the superintendents don’t want bad sps scores. So they tell the principals don’t suspend too many students. This I heard from a former superintendent who made 120,000 dollars a year. So Cade Brumley could become the hero if he was to bring back corporal punishment, but just don’t see it he plays the game and is looking for something bigger. Only problem is Linda McMahon got that job. Governor Landry could definitely bring it back, but he probably won’t either everyone worried about lawsuits.

School Administrators

Posted by elmo 57 on 5/31/25 at 3:25 pm
I really don’t understand why so many schools in the area I live in Swla have disciplinarians at their schools. It makes no sense to do this as tight as budgets are getting. What in the world do principal s and assistant principals do all day that they can’t take care of discipline. From what I have seen usually the SRO is involved in discipline when it something major now and they are paid by the sheriffs office. Also saw where the major metropolitan area of Allen Parish is hiring creating two assistant superintendents. Sounds like someone owes someone a payback. They have a total of 4,000 students if that. Maybe these superintendents just need Elon to come in and clean up the messes they have. Talk about wasteful spending. It’s not hard too see Why Johnny can’t read. Because the big dogs would rather feather their nest with dollar bills than to give every resource to the kids.
Where did Livingston go? Bonine said he would get rid of him. Hopefully Newman didn’t let the Lhsaa dictate what they should do.

Lhsaa basketball meeting

Posted by elmo 57 on 5/27/25 at 12:30 pm
The Lhsaa recently held a meeting of about 30 basketball coaches to discuss issues with the state of high school basketball. Also some of the assignments Secretaries were also there and some used zoom. Training of refs was discussed they will be getting another raise in January. The shot clock was discussed not a lot in favor of it seems to be too much of an expense. Lee Sanders did say the refs need more training. That goes without saying. One coach did a poll of best refs in the state. He showed it after the meeting. From what I understand this was from playoffs and state tournament games from a variety of coaches. Best Lafayette, BR, Nola, Shreveport, Alexandria. Worst Lake Charles, Leesville,, Monroe. This was second hand info. don’t know how accurate. One coach told me he left halfway thru due to nothing was getting
done just a big gripe session. Who knows what the executive committee will do with this information. Hopefully they won’t let these few people make decisions for all the schools.

Whatever happened with his lawsuit against the Lhsaa, for suspending during the 23-24 season. I saw he still has his aau program going strong.

Allen Parish School Board

Posted by elmo 57 on 5/19/25 at 5:01 pm
I read where the Superintendent wants to create two Asst. superintendent jobs. It is also noted that 12 to 14 jobs in the parish that people have retired from would not be refilled. I guess they will use money from these jobs to pay the two positions. I don’t have a problem with this no one is being forced to retire. People that do have a problem with it should look at the board members. They approved the plan by a vote of 7-0 and 6-0. Not one board member cast a no vote. One board member abstained from voting once and one abstained twice. Seems that if the board is informed they may have put up a little more resistance. I am pretty sure that they knew what was to come up at the meeting. If people aren’t satisfied get out and vote are run for school board. If they have to keep not filling positions, what could happen next maybe consolidation is a possibility are go to a four day week. People need to get involved and be active in their community.
