He is also a perfect example of how your leadership trickles down. Even before Sunday you could tell that their team took on his arrogant and cocky persona. It doesn’t look good on anyone and it ultimately came back to bite him.

I wouldn’t call it him being passionate. I would call it him being childish and immature.

Not saying he wouldn’t leave the school to triple his salary but he played at coastal and was an assistant there for a good 20 years before becoming the HC there. I’d call that pretty loyal to the program

CC is his dream job. 300k is a good living even with today's inflation. He is not likely to have as much pressure as a big time SEC program.

Kevin Schnall will not leave Coastal until they remove him. He waited 2 two decades to get the job he has. I don't like him, but he's loyal to that program and isn't leaving.

I see it more as Schnall is stranded at CC. He is a cancer.

Jay said in an interview before the CWS Finals that he wanted him as an assistant coach here at LSU. He knew that he would get the CC job so he decided to not hire him. He did not want him to come to LSU for a year only to be hired away.

He's first in line at UF when Sully retires.

There was a reason he was an assistant for so many years.

In his first year as a head coach, he took a Sun Belt school to the CWS Finals. Do you honestly think a major program won't try to hire him? To be clear, I think he's an arrogant prick. But many major programs don't care if you are a raging a-hole. They want winners.

No one wants their coach to miss the first game of next season...

I see Schnall as unhirable by any decent program.

We (LSU fans) are the only ones that see him the way we do. Most of the media, podcasts, etc are still saying how he was ejected too soon. Before the finals, everyone here was complaining that Coastal was the media darling, and everyone outside of Louisiana wanted them to win.

Calling him "unhirable" is laughable.

What program whats that type of negative behavior?

Anyone who thinks he can win for them. Have you ever watched baseball? A coach yelling at an ump is NOTHING.

300k and living on the coast is not a bad life
Especially with lifetime job security

Coastal needs to change his contract, increase his compensation so they can keep him at Coastal long-term. He is perfect for Coastal and Coastal is perfect for him. With CWS exposure and better recruiting, he will probably get them to Ncaa tournament every couple years. But I personally root for ULaLa in their conference.

LOL, we won.. everyone is happy we have JJ.

Butttttttt... This dudes leadership did just "trickle down" to win 26 in a row, took his team to the finals against a powerhouse and lost a 1 run game and 2 run game, it is not like he got blown out... he is not a bum and is a good coach, It is OK to admit that, even if his style is different.... There are probably 285 other D1 baseball teams that would prefer Schnall over their current coach

Not saying he is a bad coach or isn’t successful. You can be both immature and successful. Those aren’t mutually exclusive.

He and his team had a lot of success this year but you are lying to yourself if you don’t think that the way he acted isn’t seen in his players as well.

The way he acted, which as you say is seen in his players, led to a phenomenal season and fell 3 runs short of a National Championship vs the best team in the Nation ... it may not be your style or LSU style, but it was very effective

Again, I never said it wasn’t effective. In my last post I literally said they had a great season. I’m pointing out that the way their coach acted was also seen in their players. That is it. Never said they were a bad team. To get where they did you have to be good.
