The problem with MVB has been learning the playbook.

Does Nuss know the playbook? Seem like he has issues getting the play from Sloan and lining up his WRs.

I could be reading too much into this commentary but does BK understand what he’s setting himself up for with this fan base on Saturday night?

Sounds like Kelly is preparing to make the switch soon by saying that type of stuff out loud

He was asked how MVB did last week while Nuss was resting. This was his answer. I don't think there is anything to read into it.

It sure as hell better be a warning to Nuss that we are kicking the tires on another bus.

Only thing I read is that Kelly didn't trust MVB to start vs Southeastern because he wasn't "commanding the offense like a starter".

LSU must have the most complicated system on Earth. Hell we put people out there and comment that they don’t know what in the hell they are doing

Which is strange since anyone with a functioning brain can tell you what LSU is about to run before they even snap the ball.

maybe

Or, he may have some new info on Nuss' injury and is preparing everyone for it...

Or,, he is trying to motivate Nuss...

Or, this is just coachspeak to a question that was directly asked about MVB...

Or, he think this is an opportunity to get SC to prepare for two QBs with different styles

It's impossible to know

Think you covered everything. Good post.

I like the idea of a Head Coach having their backup prepared to play before the season starts.
Never ever should you rely on one man per position.
shite happens and the whole season shouldn’t go down in a ball of flames if that said player is hurt and needs a rest.

Saying all that this is a very important game for Nuss and our season.
Pivotal if you will.

Right, and our opponents put out back up QBs or transfers in pretty quick and they seem to prosper.

See this scramble by MVB? Nothing crazy. Just take the yards they give you. That would have killed Ole Miss. This is football now. Its on Nuss to adapt to this if he wants to not see 8 man coverage. Just what it is right now.

I think Nuss will play well this week because he knows he needs to.

And he didn’t know that last week?

If Nussmeier needs motivation at this point…he’s not our guy and needs to keep his slow arse in the locker room.

He gets paid stupid money to bring his own motivation.

His back was not against the wall like it is now. Of course he needs to play well every week, but I think it's clear that Nuss has another gear that he hasn't hit yet, and I believe he'll be working very hard to hit that given that his job (and therefore his NFL draft status) is potentially on the line if he lays another egg.

Tell us in the in-game thread. Just post “R” or “P” before every snap. Let’s see how you do.

Means LSU is about to have a 2 QB system. VB will get 2-3 drives or multiple plays throughout game.

Maybe Van Buren can teach Sloan to command the offense like a starter.
