Was he gonna enroll in classes too? I mean, as a paid professional athlete, is that even required anymore?

LSU still refusing to play the game. This is what happens.

Honestly, Kelly should have offered part of his salary based on his recent performance.

LSU has completely misjudged NIL since the beginning with their retarded "NILSU" shite. They thought this was a get a kid to campus and let him be an ambassador for Canes situation for a few bucks. No dumbasses this has always been pay for play. How could our admin not forsee this?

$12 million for an unproven kid is just stupid… this will set college athletics back even more. A huge blow to how it will work in the future. LSU fans are mad, and I’m sure the money is a big factor but the way the team looked the last month I’m sure had something to do with his choice.

What you fail to learn from the past makes you ignorant. The past always dictates the future.

Michigan is gonna look stupid if he doesn't bring them to at least 2 national championship games. $12 million is wild.

Or gets hurt and tears an ACL or something early in the season.

These payouts are just too big for unproven athletes.

There should he a cap on them

No we're not.

They still had to pay 8 figures to keep a hometown kid from playing 1000 miles away.

I mean our AD made the same exact mistake with Jimbo and Kelly's contracts years apart and locked LSU's future into a coach from across the country with zero championships and a terrible record against elite teams. He has no foresight.

Thursday night’s announcement was the payoff. In the last two weeks, multiple sources tell On3 that contracts from LSU and Michigan were reviewed. Michigan presented the Underwood camp with a multi-year deal described as “life-changing money.” On3 has not viewed the final contract as it has not been signed, but sources have confidently said it will pay between $8 to $10 million counting incentives. Meanwhile, sources tell On3 that LSU offered a one-year deal valued at more than $1.5 million. The Advocate first reported the number Thursday night. Underwood would have been the highest-paid player on the team.

I remember when we had amateur athletics. Y’all have fun watching this dollar store NFL ripoff.

Our fanbase using the example of not being able to get the #1 recruit in the country as a reason why our NIL game is so bad, while still have a top 5 class is so fricking retarded.

On top of that to a school who have far more rich alumni than LSU
