Also at some point he has to be accountable for the fact that he was crazy top heavy when he got here and is still crazy top heavy however many years later. He's also been seen staring into space sitting on the bench as the other OL are meeting and going over things during the game....So, he's wasted alot of time being disinterested in the weight room and on the field, and too interested at the table. I think that's even more important now with CBK, I don't see him playing overweight OL

Nice stat gramps, but he didn't play against guys that weigh 340 pounds while running 40s in the 4s.

He's still 350 pounds this year, he's simply not going to play at that weight and being like 6'2. Hate to see it for him but you have to put in the work and get in shape if you're going to play now.

I have a hard time trusting Charles Turner at center weighing only 285 going against some of the high end nose tackles or 1 techniques he’ll see in this league

Dont know why you got so many downvotes but if anyone is comfortable with Turner playing center here they havent paid attention to the last several years here's been here.

He cant handle the SEC big guys inside, never has been able to. They will be trying different guys at center this fall camp, they are trying to find another solution because they know Turner aint it.

The idea of a smaller center having advantages can be true but it’s predicated on having high level traits. Tyler Linderbaum just got drafted in the first round at C with historically short arms and under 300 lbs, but he’s also a freak athlete and an elite wrestler. Jason Kelce is tiny and arguably the NFL’s best center the last decade. He’s also insanely quick and tough as nails.

Aggregate NFL combine data since 2000 shows the average Center at the combine as 6’3” 303

We’ve also seen fans complain about having centers that are too big and should be a tackle. Center is a unique position

I still think Pocic would have dominated at LT

Dellenger LG
Bradford “appreciatively thinner at RT
Dumervil backing up at RT
Marlon Martinez looks huge at 340
Fitzgerald West looked great at C

Mason Taylor TE looks like a first-off- the bus type guy

hopefully we figure it out. this tells me is we have a bunch of good lineman, not a lot of great ones. The great ones dont get mentioned and are just plugged in.

He was a bit overrated to begin with, but big men rarely return to 100% form after popping an achilles.

He dominated against high schoolers that he usually outweighed by nearly 100lbs, and found that everyone in college was as big and strong as he was.

I think he's the future at center. I've gotten flack for saying that on here with people saying he's a 3-4 year project. He's a very good athlete, quick as shite, and tough and hard to move. He will not have a huge learning curve at center.

Shid he might start this year. He has the stoping power, if he can catch onto the mental side of it

Yeah I dont have nearly as much an issue with pure size as I do strength. Brett Helms was the center here in the mid-late 2000s and did really well. Keep in mind even back then he was dealing with guys like Terrence Cody across from him. SEC had some dudes on the interior DL. He was in that 275-280 range and started for 3 years at center.

Turner isnt far off from that but the guy just has no strength and cant hold his spot. He is going to get pushed way back into the backfield by your typical SEC interior Dlineman quite easily. We just have to find an alternative at center who can hold their ground better.

Did ya'll not see this?
Looks like he may not be a bust to me. At least he's close to playing time, huh?...

I could see him getting reps in cupcakes then starting by end of the year. He's a quick moving boulder.
