Way I read it, it was the story of a man who was on the wrong path. Drinking, lost his family, out of control behavior.
But hey, he looked inside and turned it around. Stopped drinking. Always thought Ole Miss was a good place for him. Small town, can't get lost there like you can in a big city. Don't have the pressure of say Alabama or Florida. He wasn't ready for those jobs and he wasn't ready for LSU back then. Now he is ready.
