Ya the big 12 is a sinking ship. Howard is a Midwest guy so maybe finds a fit somewhere in the big10 or ACC. Dunno

Without Texas and OU, it does not have any brand teams. I think the new BIG12 with Utah, ASU, ARIZ, and CU will be a solid conference, in a clear tier 2, along with the ACC behind the BIG10 and SEC.

The ACC to me will be the clear #3 league in tier 2 as that league does have Clemson and FSU as brand teams.

As for Howard, there are teams in the SEC that he could end up at. Arkansas, Miss. State, UK, TENN, and SCAR are all going to need QB's.

Teams that are 100% set are Ole Miss, UGA, Bama, Texas A&M, UF (if Mertz comes back; he played pretty well this year despite no OL at all). Auburn might stay with Thorne, played real well against UGA and Bama at home, not so good on road at times but Auburn's WR's look G5 level talent to me.

You do realize that was the same situation with Jayden year 1 and barely better year 2? If they can find a guy willing to come be a backup with experience great but I doubt they'd be very good. What the trolls want though is for someone to push Nuss out. Which wouldn't change anything about the backup situation.

Why are you so against a QB competition?

Same with Penix, Bo Nix, & a guy like hendon hooker last year.

Passing efficiency rating is one of the better ways to judge a QB. The guys that you mentioned from the year before their leap to their leap:
Penix - 26th to 12th
Nix - 7th to 2nd
Hooker - 3rd to 2nd
Daniels - 40th to 1st

Daniels is a huge statistical outlier here. Howard is 53rd in the country this year, around guys like K.J. Jefferson and Drew Allar. Both of those guys are solid starters, but they aren't going to win the SEC. LSU is losing their top two receivers so it's not like Howard is having a seamless transition to a roster with two bona-fide WR stars if he transfers here.

Quit pretending you are pro competition. You're using that as your fake arse curtain when really you're just against Nussmeier. Admit it and quit being a bitch.

If it means having Nuss transfer and him being your only option, then yes.

These were his numbers in the Big 12 this year as a 4th year starter

8th in ypg
7th in ypa
3rd most INTs thrown
7th in RAT
9th in comp%

If we just had a guy like that on the roster and knew it wouldn't affect the rest of the roster, then sure it wouldn't hurt to have a guy like that as an experienced backup, but that's not reality. Nuss has waited 3 seasons to have his shot. He's not going to stick around if another transfer comes in, and you couldn't blame him either. And if it's for a transfer who has been pretty average his entire career, it wouldn't make sense for us to take that risk. Outside the Washington St QB, there aren't any QBs rumored to enter or already in the portal I would risk signing right now.

He would do well here but nuss wants to start next year. That could get messy.

I am pro competition. To think I would be afraid to admit to disliking Nussmeier(if I did) is lol

Max Johnson accounted for 28 TDs and had better passing numbers across the board in his 2021 season. Do you want him back?

Just saw an On3 guy say that Auburn Kentucky, Louisville, Missouri, and Washington are schools to watch for Will Howard. Don’t know the guy but it’s the first list I’ve seen.

But yea hey all stats are the same

His receivers were, in order of production
Jack Bech - can barely see the field after transferring to a bad TCU team
Kayshoun Boutte - was hurt half the season
Jaray Jenkins - UDFA, cut
Malik Nabers - freshman
Brian Thomas - freshman
Trey Palmer - was not good while here

outside games against Ole Miss and UCLA, name them

Kansas ST also has a 1000+ yard back on their team with more rushing yards than TDP had in 2021, not to mention about 30% of Price's rushing yards came in 1 game

For a backup QB? We need DL, not backup QBs. The dumbest thing they could do with NIL funds is waste them on a backup QB.
If we bring in an experienced QB via portal, he will be the starter. I said the same when BK brought in JD. There never was a QB battle and a decision the week of the first game. It was JD's all along imo. No knock on Nuss, but this happens everywhere. New coach brings in his own guy via portal, that's the man pretty much every time.

Right after you show me the defenses he's been facing compared to Johnson.

Will Howard is an average experienced QB. If we were in a position like Miss State or Auburn, it would make sense to go after him, but we're not.

I hardly ever use the strawman argument but this is the classic definition of it. You have one guy on a winning team that accounts for all of his team’s offense vs a guy that accumulates stats on a losing due to game flow & talent around him.

shite we already know max Johnson has transferred twice due to not being good enough. Will Howard is moving up because he has out played his time at Kansas st

Out of all the QBs playing CFB this was one of the worst examples to compare him to
