I thought Scott would be good but he proved me wrong over and over. I figured being around Saban and Mark E and from here would be good.

I was always against the BK hire, viewed it as a high floor low ceiling move but then we gave him 10 years.

When you have to sell the hire as the other option was Mark Stoops that isn’t good.

Woodward brought in 3 national championship winning coaches that are elite. Mulkey a hall of famer, JJ and Jay Clark. Brian Kelley was a so so hire that had to clean up Ed Orgeron's mess. He totally struck out with Mc Mahon. He was nowhere near as bad as Joe Alleva.

Yeah, I give him next to no credit for the Mulkey hire. Jay - I have no clue about the inner workings on that but he has to get some credit, we can't have it both ways with our 20/20 hindsight.

baseball and WBB are minor sports.

Football and men's basketball are overwhelmingly the most important sports at LSU. And Woodward made horrific hires and gave absurd contracts on both of them,

I didn’t care at all for his politics but I wish him well and I think he wanted to do the best he could for his alma mater.

**One was his 3rd choice, the other was from LA and had someone else leading the deal.

Regardless, sometimes things don't work out.

He was hit or miss on his hires.

However, he should have been fired as soon as the ink dried on the Aramark contract.

That shite was unforgivable.

Has it been that bad?
Not really. It's more that this fan base has a poor understanding of just how much power the individual has. There's never been a popular AD. Hell, even Skip was dragged around here.

Blah blah blah. Y’all deal in absolutes too much. Everybody is either the worst ever or the GOAT. Hell, half of the time it’s the same person. The rant gonna rant tho

lets be clear, i do not like woodward....but you are stupid as frick. he raised a lot more than he wasted.

and the 7 year contract for MM was pretty much something that had to be done because of where the program was.

10 year contract to a 60 year old coach that usually got demolished by SEC competition.

And a 7 year contract for a coach from Murray St? Crazy for a coach from a mid major to get that kinda deal stepping up to the big leagues.

He totally blew the big two sports hires and cost lsu over 60 something million.

Hindsight... it's always 20/20. At the time of his hiring he was widely considered the best AD in college sports.

pretty much every AD would've handled it the same way Woodward did.
No other AD handled it the same way. And the NCAA had actual evidence on those coaches cheating and not just some supposed wire tap of wade saying strong arse offer.

lol keep repeating what the talking heads say.

LSU's hands were kinda tied when new reports came out for a third time.
