If he's a witness, wouldn't that constitute "investigation"?
WW is not the target in a federal investigation.

Serious question - what does the suspension solve for Alleva or the BOS?
It's very likely for Wade not wanting to help them sort this out. I.e. punishment for insubordination.

Well if he doesn't show up to BOD I understand the suspension but that is also a bad look.

So he doesn’t perjure himself in a federal investigation maybe
2. I highly doubt there would be any recording devices in the room with them.
3. Wade could always have brought his attorney along and have the attorney intervene if they started asking questions that the lawyer didn't think would be a good idea for Wade to answer at this time.

1. The Wade contract is $9 million. Alleva and King want the meeting so they can get enough info to fire with cause.
2. Wades refuses to speak to anyone at LSU because of the federal investigation underway. This protect both sides if Feds or NCAA investigate.
3. By cutting off communication Wade is protecting the program from any knowledge of wrongdoing and also not incriminating himself legally.
4. Wade could remain suspended unti FBI concludes its investigation. LSU still has to pay him and I would assume one of the assistants remains coach.
5. Once FBI investigation ends Wade and Administration complete internal investigation to see whether Wade is fired with cause. They could mutually agree to part ways and pay some of the remaining contract. It’s hard to see Wade remaining as the coach when the dust settles. Program probably would be toxic and his reputation might not ever recover?

I wonder if one of the reasons in the contract which allow LSU to fire him for cause is refusal to discuss a situation like this when LSU asks to have a meeting

no, but Alleva and/or F King could be subpoenaed as rebuttal witnesses to challenge the credibility of Wade's testimony at trial.
Bottom line, there are a lot of reasons for Wade's attorneys to have advised him not to talk to anyone, even his bosses, about everything. At the end of the day, Wade is worried about himself at this point more so than LSU. It is in his own best interest to keep his mouth shut now, as he's already done enough talking.

I don't buy this. Cat is out of the bag. The program will protect itself, and any NCAA penalties will be levied regardless of what Wade says to Alleva at this point.
Wade is protecting himself. Not that that's a bad thing.

Unless there is audio of him saying amounts of money is going to be payed to a player and a paper trail that backs it up, JA has fricked this up. Come out, make a statement backing WW up. Lawyer up and tell the NCAA to go frick themselves

For about the 80th time, this is not about Will Wade being investigated by the FBI. The FBI investigation targets are the people actually on trial. Wade is collateral damage.
This is about NCAA violations and, more importantly to LSU at this point, whether they can fire Wade with cause.

Well, next week when the Zion tapes are released, let's see if Coach K is suspended . And then when he's not, I wonder what the shittest announcer if CBB will have to say about that, & i'm talking about the only announcer i have despised more than Curt Gowdy. Dickie brokedick Vitale. But i'll tell you a little secret. I tried to tear his head off while at a final 4 in New Orleans. If not for intervention, he might have been mistaken for Stevie Wonder. It cost me a trip to jail.

What did they expect to happen though? They're not naive enough to believe Wade was innocent, so he either tells the truth and gets fired, or lies and gets fired.
Instead, they suspend him? That's a chicken shite way to handle it as an administration, given what we know about the way the NCAA handles these things.

Only helps Public Perception in my opinion.

You can't expect him to do this without talking to Wade. That is the definition of leaping before you look. Very risky.
I think he could have made a statement similar to the one he made without suspending Wade, but even that might have gotten him nowhere.

Maybe he got info from another board member who hates Mallett

I wouldn't want to work for that cuck Alleva. He sees his true colors. What a pussy
