The way things are going the more interesting discussion is whether or not he will make it to the end of the season.

LSU has 5 straight SEC games against ranked opponents coming up, 3 of them on the road.

8-4 and he's back. And you all know it. Anything less and I think he's gone.

He lost to the now 18th ranked team. This weekend he plays the 16th ranked team. Florida is 20, Ole Miss is 17, Bama is 1, Arky is 13. ULM and A&M are both unranked.

If he goes through this and comes out 8-4, there is just no way you can possibly fire him.

Even 7-5 and some kind of insane win against Bama and I think he stays.

There's just so many different ways it can work out. I know we're all out for blood right now but so much of this hinges on what happens Saturday.

There are some very damning but credible rumors coming out of Franklinton involving O that guarantee he gets fired and that he loses his buyout. Not looking to be banned so all I will say is he could win out and he will still be fired.
Is this something different than the camp rumor? We all heard that following the UCLA game, and everyone thought "that's it, he's gone". Nothing ever came of it.

I mean, we get Urban Meyer fricking around Saturday night (caught on camera), and by the beginning of this week the Jacksonville owner is putting out public statements.
We've had a continuous string of Orgeron gaffes (none quite as raunchy, but the sheer amount is staggering), it makes heads spin here on this site, but I don't think LSU has ever come out and admonished him.

You know the answer and said it in your response, to WIN.

It is common knowledge that he has to go at “least” 8-4 and that might not do it. So 9-3 is what he has to go to ensure another year.

But with the way the schedule looks 6-6 is gonna be a stretch and if that is what LSU does he is gone simple as that and that is why people are moving on right now. He has to pull a rabbit out of his hat and since he doesn’t wear a hat, how do you like his chances???

if 0 finishes 5-2 with that schedule, he'll prolly stay.

that's not gonna happen, but for the argument's sake.

O is gone dude per rumors the pre-season stipulations of

9-3 u stay

8-4 depends how it looks

7-5 you are gone

O is gone regardless just a matter of when scott pulls trigger. no need to rush now. work quietly behind the scenes and get our guy lined up.

Absolutely nothing. With the losses adding up and all his off the field stuff that people in charge at LSU already don’t like. His best hope is the university pays him a portion of his buyout because I think they can fire him for cause because of his involvement in the Title IX case. If they refused to pay his buyout it will end up in court and I think LSU will win that case

Run the table and look competent in doing so. By competent, I mean look like a team that's actually well coached. Even if we had held on to beat Auburn on Saturday, they didn't look competent at all.

If that's the case, I'm fine with that.

I've been hearing various 'rumors' (not just about Orgeron) for the past couple years. Almost every single one has led to nothing. I'm pretty certain most rumors are started by guys on boards like this, to generate a little buzz; but they don't play out like we hope.

Me, I'm all for cutting the cord today, letting Ensminger take over as interim, and writing the season off as lost. Play the remaining games as basically a teaching/training experience, try to reestablish some basics into the program, so the next guy doesn't have to start completely from scratch.
Figure out a way to run. I don't really even care if we lose by 20, try to get your starting RB up to 60-70 yds, and the team over 100. Pick up 3 yds when it's 3rd and 2.

Are you asking what’s possible or what’s likely? Theoretically he would have to finish 8-4 or 9-3.

There’s no chance on planet earth that this team wins 4 or 5/6 games from below without being able to run the ball whatsoever.

Compare O's antics to those that got Jim McElwain fired from Florida. Hint: O's are significantly worse and of a significantly greater volume.

Nothing saves his job. The brigade is marching. The next coach will be a minority. Find the up and comer, you'll find the next coach

You and the majority of negatigers underestimate how hard it is to win a national title. What coach O did by going to the fiesta bowl and following it up with a Natty is very rare. Still waiting on Kirby Ryan Day or Lincoln Riley to win one. O did it in the same division a Saban. I believe he’ll do it again.

If we fire him, how many offers would he receive?

9-3, showing miraculous improvement each week. Only additional loss to Bama in a barn burner.

8 wins or 6-7 wins and somehow beats bama (won't happen obviously but worth noting).

I would say before we even get to that, he needs to probably win this weekend and at worst split Florida and ole miss.
