Well, The Hat went 9-4 in the 2nd year following his 2007 natty. Basically the same season 0 is in right now.

There was definitely a drop off following the championship, but throughout that 2009 season the Tigers remained ranked (high of 4, low of 15). They lost to Florida (#1), Alabama (#3), and Penn State (#11), all in relatively close games--by 21 points combined. They did lose a 2 point stinker of a day game to Ole Piss in Oxford, but that was their only loss to an unranked team, and they picked up a win over 14th ranked Georgia mid-season.

This year we entered ranked at 16th and promptly fell out due to the thrashing by UCLA. We followed that up with a narrow win to a BAD Moo State team and a shitty loss to Auburn. Looking down the schedule, there is no clear path to 6 more wins. Kentucky is unbeaten (!), including last week's win over #10 Florida. We get to play them both before going on the road to play a hot Ole Piss team and #1 Bama. There is a real chance LSU leaves its Bama beatdown on Nov. 6 with a 3-6 overall record.

Hopefully, we come home with a different coach.

There is no possibility of this happening. None.

It’s over baw, he is not the guy to sustain, much less rebuild a major program. He should be coaching at Mcneese.

Anything less than 9-3 and he’s gone. With that being said we’ll be lucky to get to 6-6.
nah...I think he could go 8-4 and keep his job...that would be 5-3 in SEC...firing a coach that went 15-0, 5-5 and then 8-4 wouldn't make sense.

I don’t think anything. The impression I’ve gotten is that the administration is tired of his antics off the field as much or more than on the field.

I think it's a function of when, how and who we lose to. He might be able to survive 8-4 with competitive losses to FL and Bama. Have a bad AU like loss this weekend, and it might be 60/40 he doesn't last the week. Don't think he will survive. It seems inevitable to me as this team has too many problems that point to his program management. And this is from someone who hates coaching changes because they rarely result in long term improvement (at least relative to the success advocates believe is a certainty).

I originally said anything less than 9-3 he is gone but after you calm down a bit and start thinking rationally, I agree with this. But I do think the 8-4 has to look a certain way. And you got to win your bowl game.

If we fire Coach O before next year we will get some 3rd Tier coach.

Here's a good indicator. If we fire Coach O, I suspect the best Coach O will do career-wise will be to wind up as a 3rd-tier coach somewhere (like Bo Pelini did). No big-time school is coming after him. Ole Miss is hardly a top-tier school, and they fired him. USC passed on the opportunity to hire him. He backed into the LSU job after our top candidates backed away. No other school was trying to hire him and no other school has tried to poach him.

Bottom line...we currently have a 3rd-tier coach, who caught lightning in a bottle and let it fall apart. I think he needs to go, and LSU will be just fine.

There are some very damning but credible rumors coming out of Franklinton involving O that guarantee he gets fired and that he loses his buyout. Not looking to be banned so all I will say is he could win out and he will still be fired.

It's hard to say

He got a pass last season, but at this point he's 0/2 in games he should have won and still has a gauntlet to go through...

Good riddance
