Yeah, I know: "he gone". I get the sentiment, and I'm ready to move on too.

But what does he need to do, to survive? I mean, he's going to coach the team vs Kentucky, so technically he's still kicking. If you let him coach, he may win; kinda hard to fire him after a W (in season).

If this teams runs out and finishes 10-2 (which would include beating Bama at this point), he obviously not only doesn't get fired, he probably gets a raise and extension

So, 9-3, loss at Bama, win out otherwise. Safe? Retained, but with a warm seat? What if they beat Bama but lose to, say, A&M or Florida?

8-4, are we looking at still keeping him?

Just curious, absolutely not expecting this to occur. But leaving the emotion out of the equation for now- what point do you keep him, vs it being obvious he's gone?

edit to add: I'm seeing a lot of downvotes here. To be 100% clear, I want the bum fired, and for LSU to get a new, competent, professional, respected coach.
I'm not arguing to keep O.

I'm posing the question: what, at this point, does he need to accomplish, to remain here?
My own opinion is, if he can run out and finish 10-2, or 9-3 with a win over Bama, he's done what we demanded prior to the season. It's on Orgeron that he had 2 losses NOT to Bama, I think had he won those games he could afford to lose to Saban again.

Edit again: I started this thread before the Coach's Show. I was thinking a win total might be enough for O to salvage his job here.
That's all gone now, I'll be shocked if he makes it to the end of this week.

Anything less than 9-3 and he’s gone. With that being said we’ll be lucky to get to 6-6.

I don’t think anything. The impression I’ve gotten is that the administration is tired of his antics off the field as much or more than on the field.

He gets to 9 wins, he's safe but that isn't happening. Not with the way the team has looked in the last 15 games and especially in the last two. It just gets tougher from here.

On top of the above, you have his off the field issues that make him look entirely unprofessional. I'm not saying the guy isn't allowed to have a personal life but when that starts to be top priority instead of what he's actually being payed for, there's a problem.

Then he's a bad coach to boot. It will/has become too expensive to keep the guy around.

He's done.

It’s only a matter of time now. Personally don’t see him making it out of October.

I literally said the same thing the other day.

I completely agree.

Once the media and fans turn nobody survives. They both have happened.

If we fire Coach O before next year we will get some 3rd Tier coach. No body wants a 2 year leash. We’re surrounded by teams ready to poach on our fertile recruiting land. It will take four years or more to establish what coach o has been building toward.

I saw you saying this nonsense this morning.

He's done. It's going to happen. Accept it.

What do you think we have currently? Does it really look like O has 'built' anything aside from a huge mess already? We're talking almost two years of this now.
