Apparently it’s not just the Pelicans and Saints Boards where you make an idiot of yourself. Something to be said about consistency.

Have they? 17-13 in the SEC is mediocre now? That's 2022

An error away from making a super is mediocre? That's 2024

This is a bad season.

Give it a rest.

Are you really stupid enough to equate a bunch of idiots on a message board to the “majority of LSU fans”? I truly hope you’re not that dumb; but these days I guess it’s to be expected.

To be fair, losing in a regional is mediocre by LSU's admittedly lofty standards.

This season though is well below mediocre by those standards.

I don't know if I agree with that. It is our fans' perception, though.

I do agree with this.

Considering in the super regional era (1999-) you can count the number of regional losses on one hand, I'd say it's fair to say mediocre.

I mean LSU has won 27 regionals in the past 40 years, so I’d say losing in a regional is pretty mediocre - for LSU.

I agree.

Also, that sentence looks weird without me quoting who I was replying to.
Basically another poster was saying they hope he leaves, because we don't deserve him or something. i wouldn't wish for that just because some fans are being ridiculous.

To clarify I am not worried about Jay leaving over fans. That's for sure. I thought it was wild when Schloss (Texas coach) was basically saying A&M fans were weird while still coaching there. That actually made sense he left.

You have an odd hand. 6 regionals and 3 did not make it

Post Skip 9 times in the last 22 years (since 2005), we did not advance past a regional. That is almost half. This will be the 10th post Skip, assuming no miracle.

13 of those were under Skip in 18 years as the head coach. We have not advanced past a regional 9 of the last 22, though. LSU is still a great program; things have changed post Skip.

Skip 13 out 18 seasons as a coach with 5 NCs

Smoke was 3 out of 5 with no NC

Paul made it 8 of 15 with 1 NC

Jay is 2 of 5 with 2 NCs

The fact that everyone thinks Verge is some kind of decision maker is funny. He’s the figure head. He doesn’t make decisions

No we won’t. We wont know that until much later. I think he will fix it for what it’s worth, but we won’t find that out in June.

Boosie. I’m not sure what you mean by much later than June. Do you mean until next season starts?

I ask because the baseball portal is open the whole month of June. That’s when we find out who Jay will be able to put on the roster from the portal. July 11-12 is the MLB draft. I think the 26-27 baseball season roster will be rather set by the end of July (time frame for MLB teams to sign their draftees).

That’s fine, but we know what’s going to happen for the most part. Some guys will leave, some guys will stay. Jay will sign a very highly rated recruiting class and transfer portal class.

Now if you’re saying 3-5 year leash to get back to a deep run in Omaha, that’s possible depending on how the seasons play out

When these current Freshmen are Juniors, LSU will make that run.

This team scored enough runs to get to the tournament, pitching let them down.

Needs to fix the pitching staff. Finally has the offense moving around a bit and the pitchers can’t hit the blind side of a fricking barn or get blasted into orbit
