We won’t know shite until SEC play starts next March.
Most of us knew this team sucked before we got to SEC play. That stretch of games from February 24 to March 8 told us all we needed to know.

The fact that everyone thinks Verge is some kind of decision maker is funny. He’s the figure head. He doesn’t make decisions
This.
And there is no strong push from outside the athletic department re: baseball. Last year was unique in that the primary sport (football) failed to meet expectations and it led to an unexpected midseason firing (when Woodward met with BK after the A&M game there was no plan to fire him that day. Things melted down quickly...because BK is an arse...and he was surprisingly fired by the end of the day). The basketball change happened because the program had been worst in the league awful for 4 years and people with influence wanted one specific coach to return.
Baseball doesn't have that demand from outside the AD right now, and Johnson's two NCs have earned him a lot of leeway. Yes, if Johnson missed the tournament the next two seasons a discussion will be had. But as long as he makes it next year, he's fine.

Man, expectations around here have tanked. Making the NCAA tournament is not an accomplishment at LSU.

2 titles in 5 years is the accomplishment you fricking idiot. The rest is the filler you tolerate.

quote:No you weren't. There isn't a single poster on this board that said Seth Dardar would be an All American.
I was told Dardar, Yorke, etc were soon to be All Americans.
Stop making this up to fit your retarded narratives.

quote:No it doesn't, retard.
2-14th or worse finishes in the SEC and the pressure on the admin really ramps up.

Lots of frustrated top 100 TAF and suite holders will bring enormous pressure to make a change vs letting this completely unravel.

What you are seeing this year hasn’t been seen at LSU since pre Skip.

I’ve already said the elite ones don’t have down years that look like this.
Please, specifically name them.

LSU has the most ignorant fans in the country, bunch of negative Karen’s .JJ is the best coach in college BB and has proven it and for some of you to imply he should be on the hot seat next season is just insane.Yall don’t deserve to be TIGER fans.

quote:I'm just catching up on all of this retardation. Vitello directly cost his team the LSU series last year with defensive decisions in game 1 (and leaving in his closer who was rattled) and pitching decisions in game 3. He fricked up.
In a heartbeat. Vitello’s team play with an edge and toughness regardless of talent level and I don’t recall many in game stupid decisions from him that we see JJ do repeatedly.
Vitello had the most talented roster in the last half decade of college baseball in 2022 and didn't even reach Omaha. What the frick are you talking about?

The bar to retain your job is not particularly high when you have two national championships in 5 years. Ergo, simply reaching the NCAA Tournament would be enough to Johnson to keep his job.

quote:He'll get next season to turn it around or he'll be just another LSU HC that went soft, got comfortable and started coasting with the Big Bucks in the Bank while being shown the door.
What you are seeing this year hasn’t been seen at LSU since pre Skip. It cannot continue.
LSU Baseball is bigger than any one HC.
He'll either FIX IT now and get the program back to standards or he'll transition into "Baseball Shrimpy." (Win a NC, then choke the program to Death)
