No matter who he signs we’re going to proclaim them as the best and will likely be preseason top 5 again on reputation.

Disagree. We’ll have a ton of idiots going the other way saying it doesn’t matter who we sign they’ll suck.

First off he doesn’t have “a national title.” He has brought two to the school. Second go see how often it works out to keep firing coaches on such a short leash for a program long term. It’s not a method that really produces titles for a program. It’s an angry fans trigger response. Jay is one of the best coaches in the sport and in this one bad year (following a national title) twitter warriors are calling for his job. He has made the tournament four times and has won two national titles. Go find a better resume than that before talking about firing him. Cause there is not a better name to get. So wipe your tears put your big boy pants on and know bad seasons happen. Too many quitters on here.

I read none of that last June through March. I was told Dardar, Yorke, etc were soon to be All Americans.

For obvious reasons most everyone is an optimist going into the seasons at places like LSU.

Jay has a serious problem. None of the freshmen are on the same level as Brown , Milam or Curiel when they came in as freshmen. It’s gonna be interesting to see what he does .

Hopefully fundraise from the already tired donors and money whip a great roster like he did several years ago.

Money is the only way out of this, his coaching is mediocre.

I really rely on baseball to get me into summer. Being done by Mothers Day is gonna force me to work in the yard. Booo.

It doesn't, but he JUST WON IT LAST SEASON. A 2ND ONE.

I would agree if it was 5 years ago and he only won 1. He's won 2 of the last 3! Like come on.

Who truly expects this kind of season next year? I doubt non LSU fans do. Only some LSU fans could be this negative and ridiculous.

My mind is absolutely blown by how quickly some fans can turn on Jay.

I just cannot believe the stuff I'm seeing. If LSU has b2b seasons like this then I think the concern would be warranted, but not after winning 2 of the last 3.

Paul won 1 Natty and lived off that for a while, but Jay has already won 2 of the last 3 freaking seasons. It's disgusting to see people turn on Jay like this. I almost think many just hate the man. He was pretty hated in 2023.

They haven’t turned on him. All these same posters have trashed Jay since the day he was hired. They only shut their dick suckers when LSU wins the title.

I don't hope he leaves just because some LSU fans are being ridiculous.

I would totally be with them if he won 1 Natty in 10 seasons, but he just won 2 of the last 3. WTF is wrong with some of these people? At least let's see if he bounces back like he usually does.

I think acting this way might be warranted if he had back to back poor seasons. Still could depend how devastating injuries were. I can't believe any fans are doubting him. I doubt opposing fans would ever feel this way about him.

Nah frick it. I hope he bounces and says it’s because the LSU fanbase has too many mouth breathing retards who can’t appreciate titles.

I also hope Kiffin does the same thing when these same retards start in on him when LSU loses their first game this fall.

The majority of LSU fans these days don’t deserve successful programs. They can’t even take a season to appreciate it because the first sign of adversity the following year and it’s right back to “fire the coach”.

shite, most of these idiots spent all of 2025 whining about the baseball team and how they were embarrassing (Remember the regionals against Little Rock) only for that team to win a fricking title. frick them. They don’t deserve nice things.

We talking about the coach who brought Arizona to the CWS twice with a championship series appearance?

Why does everyone on this board act like Arizona is some bottom feeder baseball program that Jay Johnson made a household name?

They literally have the 6th most NCAA tournament appearances of any program

Correct. All I’m saying is the negatives will be out. It’s hard not to be positive after a championship. But it’s also hard to say this may be a one off and what happened this year doesn’t dictate future years.

I mean, it definitely depends on what happens in those other 9 seasons

If they get put out in regionals, super regionals, and Omaha , sure

But multiple seasons like this one? Hell no

Which Jay hasn't had multiple seasons like this one yet, but I don't know how one looks at this roster and thinks we're gonna miraculously make a 180. These freshmen aren't like past freshmen obviously.

I’m not “acting” like anything. I answered a question about what Johnson would do in the same job as Vitello. The answer is he would do what he’s done everywhere he’s coached: win.
