neither has LSU. the sec could at least until LSU lines them up in a game. What about the other 33 players in the same situation and want to come back to college and have and opportunity to earn a living with their 5th year in NIL college football. I cannot see how SEC/NCAA can possibly come out ahead in this deal.

So now they’re saying it’s about a competitive advantage by scouting and not about the principle of pros coming back to college?

Yep but going to multiple minicamps is fine as long as you don't sign a contract.

Actually Stankey even said today under oath.. "those who left college and attended camps can't come back".. so even he can't keep up with all of his own bullshite at this point

That is why all 16 universities agreed to these rules. The rules have not changed. What changed is that someone has decided to test the line.

Then all 16 should abide by said rules correct? Because several are not. You said it yourself. So what’s the deal?

Which again was created AFTER the 5 for 5.

Yes. The old rule is zero pros participating in college. This wave of athletes feel they should have a case to come back, the SEC has tried to make this distinction since this case (on a class scale) has taken place and tros have been flying around

It's ridiculous position for them

Admins say that discussing the topic of the thread with a perspective that actually considers what comes next legally and realistically is derailing the thread, so I guess I can’t answer any of you that comments on my last post.

You are getting mobbed by the fanbase that is getting mobbed by the nation. What a world.

You’re just derailing the thread. We’re just trying to get updates on what’s going in the courtroom and you’re trying to write a fricking thesis. Shut the frick up and just follow along.

Going pro ends your college career.

Again, apparently it doesnt. They keep moving the goalposts. If simply "going pro" ends your college career then the contract rule doesnt fricking matter.

Nah, I don’t like the little a-hole. He’s my step-nephew and doesn’t play

Yet you’re there watching so you obviously can’t stand up to your wife, his mother or…well…anyone.

As long as the student is enrolled by tomorrow they can be added to roster going forward

Does anyone know if these student-athletes are currently enrolled at LSU today?

Or is LSU waiting for this ruling before deciding if the young men will be enrolled?

Says it comes down to the question can the 16 university agree to the standards of their conference

I'm pretty sure you'd get 15 universities that would vote against Ole Miss playing a 6th yr QB based on a court ruling. You probably would have the same about Pavia last year. Vandy doesn't beat LSU last season without him. Picking and choosing what universities should agree on is asinine. Of course everyone would vote against something that would give one school a perceived advantage over the rest.

Yes, LSU cutting contact with these guys and committing to not rostering them would immediately end the situation as it relates to LSU. IDGAF if the plaintiffs keep going.

What exactly is the legal wrong committed by LSU.

Explain it as clearly as Sankey has to to a judge.

Says this judge doesn't need to solve all of college sports. His job is to decide if going to professional sports ends their ability to participate in collegiate sports.

But they cant even define what a professional sports is team is or if the players were ever actual professionals.

Nothing is happening, moron

Have you ever been to a 10 hour court hearing? I have. The judge decided the case a long time ago. Absolutely by all means remain enthralled by sketchy tidbits of who is on the stand though. I apologize profusely for the discussion

We can't allow certain schools to accept former pros when other schools can't. We can't allow schools to scout training camps and recruit guys as soon as they're cut. That's not a fair advantage for all 16 members of the conference

What does this have to do with players fighting for a 5th year?

Yeah, I don’t understand why the SEC is trying to die on this hill saying that we are allowing professional players to come back. They couldn’t even what a pro player is. They discount the fact that multiple other teams are doing this.
