There is no planet on which winning this battle in court and having these two guys on the team is worth the petty vindictiveness that would follow for years.

Were you dropped on your head as a baby?

In your opinion, who are the parties in this lawsuit?

Next question
Have you ever stood up for something because it was right no matter how unpopular it was?

It’s literally a one-time problem that the league dying on the hill for over two backup players that couldn’t make NFL rosters.

The players have the right to seek the injunction. The SEC intentionally changed rules a week ago that included massive penalties to any school as a means to dissuade them from signing said players. THAT is the injury to the players.

Also, the league commissioner cannot define what “professional” means nor has he read the new NCAA rule change, so how can he enforce the league’s rules? The SEC cannot deny its member schools from signing these players if they win their injunction against the NCAA because the SEC follows NCAA eligibility guidelines.

All LSU has done is allow the players to seek the legal remedy they’re due.

We have to have our roster by tomorrow

We don't though. Only the roster for Clemson game which none of these guys are eligible for anyway. As long as the student is enrolled by tomorrow they can be added to roster going forward

Says their statement was not made in retaliation to the tro. It was simply a statement made directly from the sec constitution and the constitution is much older than this tro. Sec did not violate a court order but simply reiterated their constitution because that's what they were asked to do by all 16 members. A new rule was not created.

Does that make it better as their are clear violators all throughout this conference that they haven’t targeted?

This is a one time issue really, none of the others would have as compelling of a case as this particular class.

You may think its a one time issue but depending on how the Opinions are worded this could be a much bigger play and other jurisdictions could open it up even further than you think. The USSC opened up this pandora's box and look at orderly that decision has been to college sports.

Swift injunction in favor of players with a legal bashing of SEC position from the Honorable Judge.

No I was referring to when the NCAA referenced the CO case, which is currently in a stay.

Ultimately it’s collusion and constructive contempt of a court order. Where will these players make the most money? SEC, Big 10. Directly hindering their right to earn. “They can play but not at any school that will pay them”

Just for the record, Harris was 1st Team All-SEC, Wright 2nd Team.

I didn’t intend to undermine their previous successes—was referring to their status on our hypothetical depth chart but point taken. They aren’t useless bodies I get that.

I just don’t know how, apparently, the fanbase sees this as being worth the squeeze. It’s an admittedly—by everyone—a one time issue, that involves two players we didn’t even consider having until a month ago.

In my mind I don’t see how any of the backlash could ever be worth it.

But anyways—I tried to provide some sort of realistic basis and discussion for how this played out, and that’s not wanted. I’ll stop posting ITT outside of direct replies to this post. Everyone enjoy the echo chamber

I understand what you're saying, and don't doubt that someone will try to push it, but I'm confident that they wouldn't have as valid of a claim as c/o 2022 players. Just my opinion

At a certain point yes you are correct. But if they opened a federal case to insure they can punish them (for something I am doing also) Take half the money and threaten to remove them from the league. That would make me say “hold now wait what?”
If they can do that to a bama, they can do that to me. ( I also know that this would never happen to Alabama because of the reality we live in)

Says Clayton jefferies is so fun to watch because he tries to create every advantage, but this is an advantage that we can't allow. We can't allow certain schools to accept former pros when other schools can't. We can't allow schools to scout training camps and recruit guys as soon as they're cut. That's not a fair advantage for all 16 members of the conference

Uhhhhh the other schools are playing guys that violate the rule

I don’t see how that’s LSU’s problem. That is a direct reflection of the leadership of the NCAA.

They accepted the smear campaign against their school and gave up.

Sorsby did something that has historically gotten people banned from their sports altogether. He also committed actual crimes (underaged gambling, using proxies), he's lucky to have not been arrested if we're being frank.

It's not near the same situation as this at all
