What does this have to do with players fighting for a 5th year

Because they want to be able to enforce their rules and policies, which would unfairly restrict the athletes from exercising their 5th year. Is the basic issue

Nothing is happening, moron Have you ever been to a 10 hour court hearing? I have. The judge decided the case a long time ago. Absolutely by all means remain enthralled by sketchy tidbits of who is on the stand though. I apologize profusely for the discussion

Then just get out of it. Nobody thinks you’re as important as you obviously do.

The SEC shouldn't be able to enforce a rule they modified after a tro was granted, regardless of which school the player wants to go to. They're trying to make this about LSU when it's about the players. It's maddening

Changing the rules now doesn't just affect the players in this case. That affects every single player in this conference.

Irony.

Says this judge doesn't need to solve all of college sports. His job is to decide if going to professional sports ends their ability to participate in collegiate sports.

Bold strategy, Cotton.

Not a good look trying to tell the judge what is and is not his job. (If that is indeed the context in which it was delivered.)

Also, he is attempting to pull the will over everyone’s eyes that this ruling has no influence on the future of college football… He may need to convince future clients that he isn’t responsible for such foolishness by means of insanity.

Lsu is a voluntary member of this conference and are bound by the rules of the conference.

Be careful what you wish for, SEC. This could very well set the stage for LSU stepping away from the conference after the football season ends.

Slippery slope, when other voluntary member institutions are doing the same as them.

Yeah, I don’t understand why the SEC is trying to die on this hill s

Remind me again..

Did they sue Alabama after they brought back a basketball player that had played 3 seasons in the g-league?

Stop derailing the thread.

Put the phone down and watch your high school football game that you went to for some reason.

Plaintiff rebuttal

This is not about testing the line. The line is not clear between pro and amateur. If the line is so clear then why can't they explain it?

College baseball and softball teams can play exhibitions against pro players. You allow overseas pros to participate in college. G League players are allowed to participate in college. Other examples are given...

These athletes did not make millions. None of them made any real money. One of them got 20k and some of them received a few hundred dollars.

Judge interrupted and said if they voluntarily left and were ultimately cut they knew that this was a possibility of their actions

Attorney says well it's an argument of old rules vs new rules. Under the old rules players were given red shirts and more years but to make it easier let's look at the new rule.

An individuals eligibility gives them 5 years from enrollment or 5 years from their 19th birthday. All of these players are less than 5 years from their 19th birthday. They made these rules and wrote these rules and under their rules these players should be eligible

No other rebuttal. Matter has been submitted to the judge. He will come back with ruling

That request isn't crazy because the SEC are the ones who split the crowd because the other athletes weren't going to LSU

This is almost starting to feel like the SEC has some kind of vendetta against Kiffin. Do they feel like he made them look bad the way he left Ole Miss or is it something else.
