Eh won’t hurt to pick up a bog time transfer but not a necessity. Williams, Emery, Goodwin is a strong group. Then add i. The 2 incoming freshman. Would probably be a top 5 rb room in the SEC going into next year.

Emery, just runs so wild. No swiftness to him whatsoever. I would think he would take his covid year, but you never know.

If you wouldn’t trade our RB room for an achane, Judkins, Gibbs type back you’re lying to yourself

Sure, but when given the ball Williams produced against every team on the schedule while he was healthy and had any kind of blocking. He's a lot like Clyde Edwards-Hellair in that he's dependable and knows how to stick his head in between the tackles and get yards. If he's healthy maybe we pick up those 4th downs.

I like Williams as the starter. IMO, our run game was best when he was the starter.

Williams as the hard nosed and tough starter.
Emery as the #2/receiving back
Armoni Goodwin as the change of pace
Cain as the finisher

Now I will say this, if Derrick Davis is actually moved to RB, he could blow the room up. When I saw him play it reminded me of what FSU did while Jimbo was there. They had a 5 star safety in Karlos Williams. He played a backup DB his 2nd year. Can't remember the exact reason why, I think it was for depth, he was moved to RB his 3rd year (this was that undefeated 2013 season). Even though they had Devonta Smith and a 5 star RB both playing well, he came in and jumped the 5 star RB. Now the 5 star wasn't a slouch as he had 560 yards and 8 TDs averaging damn near 7 yards a carry. Even still, the former safety had 730 yards, averaged 8 yards a carry, and had 11 TDs. Now the next year he regressed, along with everybody else, but his size and speed reminded me of LSU's Davis. Karlos was around 6'2 220 and Davis is around 6 ft 210.

Don't listen to these Bozos. They are the same guys that wanted Clyde replaced in 2019. Josh Williams is definitely the starter and I look for him to have a very Jacob Hester 2007 like season. He brings an edge and an effort that our offense lacks without him.

I'm just upset it took somebody that long to spell it out

I appreciate Williams production this season, but this offense needs more talent at RB. Specifically a speed back or someone with breakaway abilities

I love Josh Williams as a player and leader and the way he’s stepped up when this program needed him. That said, while I hope he stays and can absolutely still see a role for him as a power back who can close out games and as a 3rd down guy, we do need a better starter who is more dynamic and has a higher ceiling. Williams has done the absolute most with his ability, but we need someone with more talent to start and lead the way.

Unless LSU makes a huge portal signing, Goodwin will be the starter assuming he's healthy.

That’s a big assumption based on his first two seasons. I like Goodwin and he was really good at times early this season, but he’s had a lot of trouble staying on the field.

Josh is the starter unless someone else shows up. He averaged 5.5 yds/carry, runs low and hard.

Now, if we could get a bigger, more explosive back, I would be all for Josh being a feature back with a good number of carries. I really like how he runs.

If Emery didnt have ball security issues, he'd be the feature back.

Josh Williams is very good, and I am plenty satisfied with him being back there. But no one should be "unquestioned". If he gets beat out he goes to the bench.

I think it depends on if Goodwin is healthy.

He looked like our best back pre-injury, and who is in the portal.

Goodwin isn't ahead of . Williams. Williams is a better all around back with his receiving and blocking as well as averaging 5+ yards per carry

The best Ga. could do was a walk on QB and they won the NC.

Williams is a good back. He’s a winner.

Sure we need to improve the position, but I truly believe Williams is part of the solution.

I'm a big fan of Williams. He averaged 8.3 ypc on 13 carries against Bama and UGA. And everyone remembers him getting the huge 1st down on 3rd and 8 against Bama and numerous other big short yardage situations this year when he should have been stopped short.

I like all of our RBs, but we do need to add a serious speed RB along with a WR who flies and can potentially return punts. We were ranked dead-last in the SEC in punt return yards and one of the worst in the nation this year.

Goodwin averaged 5.9 to Josh’s 5.5

Goodwin is a good, tough back who could get better and better when healthy. Josh was usually the guy we gave it to when we were in short-yardage situations, so that affected his average too.

I feel like they are both similar backs when healthy. They are low center of gravity backs who are strong and hard to find/tackle in traffic. Goodwin seems like he might have more breakaway speed.

I like them both.

Josh is a solid back.

Both would look good the better our OL gets.

Bingo

What happened?

Or maybe we were just spoiled with years of a loaded RB group.
