"People just mad that don't have players like Dallas [Fukhead]"... or something like that.
Lost all respect dude. You can't even shoot the audience straight and say that was a dirty hit and/ or was targeting? Sucking on Bama.
Get outta here. No respect.
Late Kick

He’s a light weight douch bag with a YouTube podcast. He’s a nobody.
Who cares

I’ve been a big fan of his.
Was sorely disappointed by this take.

I don't know who Josh Pate is, but I assume he's like anyone else in that industry that makes their living on access.
He's not going to take a stance that will cause him to lose access.
Just like the guys on the SECN aren't going to rock the boat.
There is only downside to going against the monied interests.

Yea I really like his takes and I don’t totally disagree with his statement on we wish we had a player like him. He is wrong in thinking that was 50/50, that was like 90/10 targeting call and it is embarrassing that it was missed and not reviewed either.
I don’t like cheap dirty hits period, but I wish we had someone on our defense that isn’t afraid to LEGALLY lay the wood. Like the defensive version of Kaleb Jackson.

LSU player does that he’s ejected. No question about it. That’s what pisses me off.
LSU player gets ejected
Alabama player not ejected
It’s a fricking joke

He's not really lying. A lot of fans deep down would like to have a player like Dallas. Someone who plays the game old school style. He's a throwback from another era when big hits were admired.

Those don't get access if they criticize the establishment.

I don’t think many people are mad at the hit. It’s football. shite happens. What most people are mad about is that the kid didn’t get ejected. Since he plays for Alabama he can get away with it but if he played for LSU they probably would’ve arrested him for making a hit like that.

I admire big hits and am about as opposed to the targeting rule as anyone in the world. However, if the rule is in place, then everyone needs to be held to it.
Alabama players are not. They’re like democrats. Different rules.
See: the horse collar calls.

don't get me wrong, i'm 51 and i agree with what you're saying is some regard...BUT, as the rules have changed and enforced, coaches are teaching to tackle without using the head, or launching or driving a player into the ground....but on the surface it seems that when a player on team A does, which they are probably taught, there are rarely consequences. its a double standard.

Josh pate (and others) do this when they know it’ll drive more people to his show.
That being said, he’s not entirely wrong but the damn thing should’ve been reviewed. Not sure what continually jawing about it will do from here on out though.

I don’t know that Bama is teaching them to do that, I think it is just how he naturally tackles. If they were teaching them to do it I would think that more players on their team would be doing it.

Exactly. A rule isn't a rule if it's used to punish one side and ignored for another

I heard the podcast and Pate he didn't say anything crazy. Id love a crazy D guy like Turner and everyone on here would to, despite what you say on a message board.
Everyone keeps posting that picture of him going towards the ground, of course his head is turning down.
Ive watched the clip 50x on slow motion and Turner is standing up when he hit JD and he hits him directly above the sternum and the momentum goes to his chin.
You have to take off the P&G glasses and for the record we wouldn't have won. We need to move on.

I think most of us admitted this didn’t impact the W-L outcome Sat night. But it should have been reviewed. A lot of media agree with many of us that it should have been targeting by the defenseless player targeting rule.
Yeah, the SEC doesn’t give a shite and it’s time to move on. But I still hope karma catches up to Turner and Bama right when it will frick them over the most.

Dude, no. Just no. An aggressive, skilled defensive player that can impose his will without being dirty? Hell Yeah!
But no way do I want us to go back to the days when people like Jack Tatum, Conrad Dobler and Lyle Alzado were praised for intentionally hurting opponents.
If you're truly skilled at your position, you don't need to intentionally hurt the other player. Just play and keep him from doing his job - over and over and over until you break his will.
If you have to resort to intentionally hurting the other player then you're worse than the biggest gaping yell leader a-hole, regardless of who you play for.
And, given the recent history of dirty play against the Tigers, I'm surprised that anyone would say "what the hell, let's just stoop to their level and play dirty too".
The laundry list of defensive players from LSU that were superb and didn't have to resort to playing dirty is long, and I'd rather not sully that list by signing a dirtbag like Turner - no matter how bad we might need the help.
