Nothing like encouraging your fanbase to commit felony assault to try and save your job.

Tennessee's enrolling freshman class of students was in diapers when he left Knoxville. Any UT fans still caring about him leaving after one 7-6 season is way lamer than Ole Miss fans.

That's a pretty bad look from a head coach. Imagine if something is thrown and someone is hurt. That would be grounds for firing him, easily. The university will also be vulnerable to lawsuits if they don't reprimand him for this and note that they don't support fans throwing things onto the field.

The statements, I presume, are said in jest. But he's been around long enough to know college football has more than a few nutjob fans who will take statements like this seriously. There is line between booing and throwing crap onto the field at an opposing team/coach.

This. Kiffin coached at Tennessee for one season...17 years ago. And it wasn't even a particularly good season. Then again, I guess if you've only had 1 or 2 noteworthy seasons since 2009 the "pain" never really goes away.
