First scrimmage:

Max Johnson: 11-of-19 127 yds, 1 TD
Garrett Nussmeier: 11-of-17 225 yds, 3 TD

Only people who don't know anything about football make idiotic assumptions based on situational scrimmages.

I mean, who was playing against the first team and who was playing against the second team? Can the OP fill us in? Meanwhile, were all the situations the QBs were playing in all the same for each of the two QBs? Or is the OP just clueless?

It's incredible that a legitimate post cannot be made without ridicule. The development of Nussmeier is very important to this team. So the post is good news that we have a battle at the QB spot. Competition is good you bunch of blind arse fans. I'm happy to see Nussmeier's stats. The kid can play too.

It isn’t a legitimate post. Nuss is not starting. you can’t understand scrimmage numbers

Interesting 110/228 coming out to 50.5% ... even math was different back then.

Well, let’s think about this….
They ran on downs 1 and 2 just about every time. So what the hell do you think people knew. You people have no idea about the history of college football. Wing T alternating QBs, etc.

No but the guy is a winner man! He’s calm, he studies, he’s tough from what I’ve seen, he’s got plenty of arm talent, he can run, he uses the pocket well, he’s accurate and he knows how to find the open receiver.

The difference between Max and Myles B. was the calm demeanor he brought to the offense, the confidence he brought and when the defense made a mistake, he would almost always find the open guy for a big play. He limited mistakes and he performed better on 3rd down. That’s huge for a QB. Talent and upside has many different aspects and Max brings a lot to the table that other QBs just don’t have or have yet to develop.

Max against one the best d-lines in the SEC and Nuss against the 2s. Not really a good litmus.

Funny you didn’t bother to ask these questions after the spring game and even insulted people who brought these same questions up. Typical hypocrisy and double standards from you.

How long does LSU keep Nuss around without him seeing field this year?
Does he wait 1/2 years to play
Plus you have Walker Howard coming in next season

He signed knowing there were two true freshman on the roster along with a (to be) 5th year player who was thought to be the starter (potentially) in 2021. Thus, he knew full well he was unlikely to see the field at all in 2021 and maybe even 2022.

Point being, I think if he had thoughts of playing immediately he would not have signed with LSU. That's not to say he won't leave sooner rather than later (QB transfers are commonplace)...but I doubt he is thinking about that at the moment

I didn’t say it then, probably just the Brennan’s. I think you get the point I was making. Majority of years this board in in love with the backup lol.
