This was the year to bring the fans back to the deaf dome..and he failed at it miserably...I don't know if he can ever recover from this...obviously if his team goes on a run next year, but we all know the chances of that happening are slim.

Frees up my time next season. I'll be back when Johnny Jones is gone.

Gonna be free tickets everywhere.

Joe doesn't realize he is the new fan answer for "who needs to go".

Would not be surprised if he is booed by the 3,000 people in the PMAC in game 1 next year

Not much booing goes on in the P-Mac for hoops games. Just passive ambivalence and texting.

Hard for me to imagine a scenario where this ends well for CJJ or LSU given what's been painfully exposed. We'd kinda suspected....maybe this might be so, the first three years. But little doubt was left after this season.

And I'd love to be wrong on that....I really would.

It will be interesting to see how many people renew their season tickets.

I know many are turned off now but when it's time to actually make the decision how many will actually not renew?

The fans really gave that team and Johnny a chance last year. IMHO the crowds this year were consistently the best crowds since the start of SEC play in 2000.

And honestly we were duped. When you can't get your team to play with consistent effort I just think you failed the fans.

I don't think you will see all that significant a drop in season tickets, but I do think you will see it go back to the way it was before this year re: actual attendance.

I think you're right. The majority of season ticket holders remain but far fewer casual fans will attend games here and there.

Fans vote with their pocketbook if they approve of the product. That's the only thing Alleva cares about.

The students won't show up again. Even this season, with all the hype it brought, student attendance was spotty.

Obviously the majority of season ticket holders will renew. Still, I doubt there will be many new season ticket buyers and I wouldn't be shocked to see 500-1000 cancellations. That doesn't sound like much, but it's a fairly significant number when LSU probably only has 7,000 - 8,000 season ticket holders.

Both LSU and Jones built this season as "next year" or the season everyone was told to be patient for. Sadly, it was a colossal failure resulting in 95% of the fanbase completely losing all faith in the head coach and a 6 month tear-down of a player, the caliber of which, LSU may not get for another generation or two. Jones won't be able to recover from it on the recruiting trail. The apathy has reverted back to the same level it was at in Johnson's final year, and all the pizza parties and ice cream socials in the world won't change that until the program starts winning.

NOW is the time to make the inevitable change and stop the bleeding. Sadly, the administration either doesn't see that or simply doesn't care. If they make a change after next season (which I'm not confident in because the same "lack of money" that is the big problem this year will still be there next season), then it will be a year too late and will put this program in a deeper hole that will be tougher to dig out of. It's deeply frustrating because anyone who has followed this program knows that after next season the Jones tenure will be nothing more than a 5 year waste of time and LSU will be starting at 2012 all over again.

This is great news. Another major sport with a minor league coach. Just fricking great. Yeah, he'll be back , back , back and then really back, and plans to retire with GoodOleLess in a dual hall of fame party like nothing ever witnessed in BR. In 2029.

I don't see how Alleva can survive here much longer and Johnny Jones is just horrible at coaching and motivating. Looks like he's not doing great at recruiting either.

It will be nice when Dale Brown & Collis Temple Jr. no longer have any input in the basketball program.

Quit lumping basketball with the other sports. Football and Baseball have national championship winning coaches. That would not make them a minor league coach.
