As the LSU Tigers embark on their 20 game winning streak, I want to know if all of the JJ Haters out there will consider him a good coach if he finishes the regular season with less than 9 losses?

Do you really think this will happen?

Not a hater, just a doubter. And I doubt this happens. But if it does, no denying he will have done a tremendous job.

I would love nothing more than to eat crow and write a sappy apology letter to CJJ for proving me wrong. Believe me, nothing would make me happier than to be compelled by a stretch of stellar play by my Tigers than to pen such an ode to Tiger hoops excellence.

Show me Johnny!!

12-6 in conference with an OU win seals it.

Every commentator in the nation was criticizing Jones. He lost to Coll of Charleston with two McDonald AA's on the floor. Criticism was justified.

Likewise, the last two defensive efforts have been great and he deserves credit for that. Team is playing with a lot of effort the last two nights.

At the end of the day, if he misses the tournament with 2 McDonald AA's, he should be on the hot seat or gone.

You know how many teams have 2 MCDs AA? He just beat a team with 6 or 7

I bet every other team with multiple AA's makes the tournament. Actually this is probably Cal's least talented team since he's been at UK.

There are probably 5-6 teams that put two on the floor AND THEY MAKE THE TOURNAMENT.

236 downvotes? Wow. Well I wasn't one of them he loves LSU and can recruit his arse off. Only person or recruiter that's better is BDP or maybe Frank. Let's enjoy this team and ride it till it ends.

I have to agree.

It was electrifying in the PMAC tonight!

I'm excited for SEC play and this team!

He's got some ballers n this next year's class.

Simmons won't hurt the brand. Even if one and done.

Upvote to the op

Here is the gist of it. Johnny haters don't know basketball. 70% of LSU basketball fans don't know basketball.

JJs coaching ability hasn't changed since he's been here. No reason to believe it'll change now. He is what he is. We've had some good to great talent that has largely under-performed.

I do appreciate his love for LSU and his recruiting ability. His in-game coaching leaves a lot to be desired.

Compare the state of the program prior to Jones getting hired to right now. We are in 1st place in the SEC. We won 12 SEC games total in the 3 years prior to Jones getting hired. We may get to that mark this year alone.

If you're going to try and proclaim the virtues of JJ you picked the wrong angle. The previous hoops staff was worse than abysmal. A gorilla would have been an improvement.

Think about this though- for all of JJ's recruiting success- if we fail to advance to the tourney or win a game there- we will have gone through the JOB, Martin, Mickey and Simmons eras with basically nothing to show for it.
