Nuss looked like he regressed after he got engaged and changed his persona. Sometime life is like that, he had it made and maybe lost interest. That is one part of the story but what about tackling by the defense, it seems in the last few games no one on defense except the DB's know how to tackle. A big bust is No. 44 from Florida, what has he done for the defense, always seems to lose the edge which is his responsibility, no need to go on, this team just lost itself on both sides of the ball.

I’m not giving Davis a pass at all, but there have been reports that Sloan is not well liked within the building. Not that it means that Davis should keep his job, I think it just may well very be that he is liked and Sloan isn’t.

I get the feeling kelly would baby Sloan and nuss.

But ok what about the 3rd & call before half with no timeout?

Think about what a royal goatfrick that entire sequence was:

After Durham’s long run, Nuss calls a TO with plenty of time left on the play clock (already our 2nd because he wasted one on 3rd and a mile on our first possession)

After an incomplete pass, a running play is called forcing us to use our final TO

Then a pass play short of the stick. Incomplete was the best possible result there because if it’s caught inbounds, we have to rush the FG team out….oh and I’m sure that would have been a clown show in itself.

I agree...to think that is the 3 plays called during that TO sequence is mind boggling.

I said at the time, that TO cost us our momentum. A&M regrouped and we did what Sloan does on offense.

Yup. And the thing about it is, the fault is on multiple levels…a 5th year senior QB constantly wasting time outs, an OC with no apparent situational awareness, and a HC who hears these plays being called, does nothing to override them, then bitches about it after they happen.

You are correct but he was bad himself. PCers have to have a flow for the game and Sloan is one of the worst OCs I've seen at LSU in decades. He has zero feel for the game and anything that's working, he goes away from it. I can't tell you how many games this year when RBs were doing well they'd disappear in second half on touching the ball. Or in the Ole Miss game he handed the ball off 2x in first half. He's an awful OC.

When Sloan calls a play off his sheet he's literally throwing darts on a board because there's no identity or consistency to what he calls. He was in over his head and anyone with eyes could see it. QB coach? Sure, you can do that but not an OC at this level. This isn't training wheels program.

… I was 1000% out on Sloan when he called a QB sneak from the 3 yard line against SC with a QB with a bad ankle sprain.. how stupid can you really be…

Feel a little bad for Sloan...got stuck with a shitty o-line and mediocre QB

The OL was NOT Sloan's fault. But his playcalling could have helped that situation but he/Nussmeier continued to call slow developing pass plays. The screen pass was recently approved by the NCAA as a legal play. Also, the wildcat package was also ruled legal. He did almost nothing with either of these. As far as "mediocre QB", I believe he is the QB coach also. And if Nussmeier wasn't working hard enough or couldn't improve, he should have been benched.

I do agree that Sloan should have been the 2nd firing. Brad Davis the first.
If I had been the LSU AD, here is my timeline for firings.
Brad Davis (mid season 2024) Sloan (end season 2024) and if no improvement after new hires by Kelly, Brian Kelly this season

Yeah, I mean it's not like they were together for the past 4 years.

No, they were not. We were dead last in the SEC in rushing.

Will Campbell assured me we would run the ball last year.

Amazing how he was not mediocre last year. I wonder what changed?

Exactly

Ordinarily I’m not a fan of the play not to lose mentality. But consider this…if Sloan (and Kelly) were really paying attention they’d have seen that A&M was moving the ball at will. Two great individual plays on defense and a botched snap stopped drives by them but on average, we were not stopping them. And we don’t have a dynamic offense to keep up with them. So limit their possessions as much as possible. Not only would running the ball help with that, we’d actually had success with it. Would we have won? Probably not. But it definitely would have given us a better chance and maybe the stadium isn’t empty by the end of the 3rd Q.

Nuss Can't Throw over the middle.

First paly after benching 20 yard pass over the middle.

I remember when Nussbussers said he was going to take over for JD mid season

I'm surprised this didn't happen as a package yesterday, but nonetheless, it was inevitable.

That group was elite at pass blocking. They kept Nussmeier alive.

This year's group can not pass block. Nuss has to play knowing he has .3 seconds to get a pass away. I think he is taking way too much of the blame for all of this.

What about Brad "Sylvester" Davis? Why hasn't anything been announced about the guy that started it all. (In regards to Offensive Dysfunction and no running game)
