Not fun, but they do heal up.

Yep…I had a pretty bad one just stepping down from the back of my pickup. took quite awhile before I could walk without a limp. It really depends on how bad the tear is…cause that’s what a strain is…a muscle tear.

Or it’s his Achilles. Many times you feel the pain in your calf. Hopefully not.

First thing I thought after seeing the play was an Achilles. We've seen basketball players have a similar reaction when they've torn theirs. That said, usually the players know pretty quickly because they feel (some say hear) a "pop" of such a fairly large tendon. So I would think the doctors would know pretty quickly.

Hopefully it is just a calf strain. But if I am a Bengals fan my heart just dropped

Kevin Durant's initial injury was also a calf strain. He rushed back and tore the achilles.

He had to be carted off because of a calf strain?
I hope that is all it is.

Based on that clip, "calf strain" is dubious. But let's hope it is indeed a "strain".

Ankle or calf. I doubt it’s knee or above.
Hoping only a few weeks of inaction.
May not be a bad thing because we all know how hard Joe comes back after adversity.
From the UCF hit, to the knee injury, appendicitis, now this.

When I hear calf, I worry about achilles.

I think he was getting close to becoming the highest player in the league.

it wasn't Achilles. Burrow didn't look to be in much pain, and wasn't visibly upset at all.

I'd bet it's merely a calf strain, which is probably why he was wearing that brace to begin with.

I just tore my Achilles…… I was not in much pain. Thought it was a calf at first. That said, Dr immediately tested it by squeezing calf (Thompson Test) they knew it was Achilles right away. MRI just confirmed it. If they are not saying Achilles now that is a pretty good sign I hope!!!! Prayers for Joey B!

He would have known immediately if he had tore his Achilles

When I tore mine, the best way I can describe it was it felt like a muscle tore, then rolled up my calf (picture a TP roll, rolling back up).. worst pain in my life, worse than when I got shot by a .40

I’ve torn both of my Achilles. I knew right away they were torn. Plus the back of my lower leg above the heal was mush so it was obvious.

Looks like the lower leg is already wrapped with something. I am going to guess it is minor but likely muscle related.

Dr. Chao (who is the best out there at analyzing injury videos) says medial calf strain that will take a while.

He says at least grade 2
