Enough time to learn from the master of screens? OMG, can you imagine if we could execute screens? Whole new level of offense.

I’ve played NCAA 14 quite a bit and I could improve the LSU screen game, can’t imagine what someone with actual credentials could do.

It's hard to understand how broken our screen game has been since Jimbo Fisher left LSU. I think Gary Crowton may have had a decent year or 2 with screens, but for the most part it has been a dead force in our offense for around 12 years or so.

I would love for them to adopt the RB option route the Saints run with Kamara when he’s iso with a LB. That’s an automatic 5-8yds every time.

CEH could be a beast in well executed screens. He's a bit slow hitting the hole in hand offs but get him moving and get the ball in his hands and he's a bowling ball.

Like it has nothing to do with Kamara.

Yeah... thanks for this timely reminder.

Orgeron needed to make changes, because the previous offense stunk. They could not even execute basic concepts like screen passes.

Time will tell whether Brady is a good hire. That said, at least Orgeron is trying to fix the offense.

Emery would be dirty running that option route

Sean Payton has a very unique approach to offense. It’s not just the screen game. He also has a very thorough approach to game p,anning.if Joe picked up any of that, we will be an improved team.

They ran it with Sproles too. Obviously you need a RB with great agility and hands, but it’s not like Kamara is the only RB that can read the LB’s feet/hips and decide which way to break the route.

There was a thread on Saints Talk that linked an in depth story about how Payton stole a play from the Eagles and beat them with it in the Divisional Round.

If you want an idea how Payton works and what Brady might have learned, I’d suggest looking for that. (I’m going to bed).

I agree he's at least looking like he wants to address problems on offense unlike stubborn Les Miles. Though, if I wanted to be a smart-arse, and right, I would probably say something like, "if Ed orgeron was really wanting to fix the offense he would have never hired Steve Ensminger as offensive coordinator."

I feel like Crowton was the coach who broke the screen game. Wasn't he overly obsessed with a gimmicky bubble screen that he ran into the ground?

Or maybe it was the Jefferson interception in the title game that truly broke it.
