Speed is a good thing to have but eventually you will get popped by a linebacker and if you don’t have the size to take the hit you’ll disintegrate. I’m not saying Daniels shouldn’t start because of his size just making an observation.

Not much threat of run on RPOs with Brennan

For the millionth and one time... You don't need a running quarterback to run RPOs. The RPO is with the running back and the receiver. The QB's ability to keep it is just an added bonus. But by no means is the QB running the ball a primary function of an RPO offense.

He wasn’t exactly setting the world on fire with his play at his previous school.

We really needed a athlete that could play QB back there the last few years with how bad the Oline has been. We didnt have that really. Say all you want about RPO and dont need running QB to run it but having a Running QB makes it a whole lot better. Burrow had a lot of runs that won games for us and he was the best RPO QB i have ever seen.

Mobility such an important skill in todays offenses. Not much threat of run on RPOs with Brennan. Think that will make the difference at some point.

You do know an RPO has nothing to do with the QBs ability to run.
It's more about the QBs ability to read what the defense is doing. The QB has certain things to look for, and whatever a certain person does on the defense is what decides if the ball is handed off or pulled and thrown.

Jayden is faster, better thrower, and smarter than Brennan.

RPO is hand off or throw. Zone read is hand off or keep.

Also you go with the senior who has stuck it out here for 6 years. This is Brennan’s time to shine. Nuss is an adequate backup and Howard is the future.

I didn’t like bringing in the transfer in the first place.

I dont understand why people are so anti allowing athletes to transfer here. We have the room. If Daniels wins the job then great. If he doesnt, so what? The worst thing Daniels can do is add depth, competition, and the ability for the defense to practice against a true dual threat QB. Let the best man win

Daniels may have all the talent in the world but he looks pretty thin for a SEC QB. Wasn’t that the biggest complaint about Myles for the longest time?

the difference is mobility

Daniels may win the job but I think he was brought in because BK knows Myles is prone to injury. BK probably doesn’t have confidence Nuss is ready or even going to stick around after the spring. If Myles wins the job you have a great backup with experience. If Daniels balls out Myles can sit or transfer. Great move by Kelly to get him imo.

I can't imagine Daniels would be here unless he was told he would be the starter.

You go with the player that give you the best chance to win, regardless of class. It's not a lifetime achievement award. If Brennan is the best player, great. If not, so be it.

Look everyone keeps saying this, but in his spring practice opening press conference, BK said they were looking in the portal for a QB when someone in jaydens camp reached out to them. So JD called LSU and said he was interested, and lsu offered him.

I just watched that press conference, he didn’t say they were looking just that they look at it everyday and evaluate who they may want and before they decided Jayden contacted them

I look forward to a spirited offseason on the rant irrespective of whoever the winner may be.

You know what would really frick us up? All 4 quarterbacks have a great spring and look good in the scrimmage. All 4 stay. All 4 play significant time this fall, and none of them can stand out because the o-line still doesn't know its dick from its arse.

I mean he sucked against PAC 12 defenses but okay I guess.
