Being interviewed on sec network, said he may request a 9:30am regional game 1 timeslot, obviously was joking about that part, but may have let it slip that its what he is thinking

I don't think it's some big secret that this was Hurd's audition for that regional role. He passed the test so logically that's probably what we're looking at now.

If it's a good 4 seed I like it if we get a bad 4 seed I think you hold him for either a game 4 or relief in game 2 or 3.

I mean Hurd is pretty obviously starting game 1 for us in the regional looks like

Plenty of rest between now and then, and as much as we would like to "just start Money" or someone for game 1, you start someone like Hurd who will be well rested and you know you just got a good start out of him knowing things can still change quickly there.

I think now you save a guy like Money or Coleman for a potential Game 4 start if that happens. Coleman probably wouldnt even be able to go more than 3-4 innings anyways. And we would just look ultra stupid to throw someone like Money and he cant get out of 2 or 3 innings giving up a bundle of runs and us having to go to pen right away there game 1 with what you just saw from Hurd.

With the way Hurd has pitched the past couple of outings I think that may be likely.

Yeah he’s absolutely game 1 of regional now without a doubt. Really like our top 3 right now and how they are playing. Pitching just might be turning a corner at the right time. Oh….and Crews had some clutch hits…..

Yup, I saw that. I have been saying that whoever started today would be our game 1 regional starter.

You stretched him to 90+ and he has the second best stuff. He’s been our second best pitcher the last 6 weeks. He’s your regional game 1 with Floyd getting game 3. I love that setup.

We usually put the names of our pitchers out there so not much of a slip.

Yeah, if it’s a SWAC champion or equivalent as a 4 seed, pitch Money and you win 15-7 while retaining your three best arms for the rest of the weekend.

He’s kind of the third starter right now. It’s not a secret really. If you don’t get a 4 seed with a legit baw as the frontline guy, you can go with your #3 to open play

I think a good 4 you are throwing Floyd and a bad 4 you throw Hurd.

If you throw Hurd in game one he may be able to help you in relief if there is an if necessary game plus at that point you will be facing a team that is playing their 5th or 6th game. This lineup should be able to mash whatever arms they still have available.

ETA: would be their 5th game. Not sure why I thought if you lose your first game you would play an extra one somewhere.

If you do that Hurd won't get a start at all.
