He broke off a huge TD in The Bluegrass Miracle game, also was a huge factor against UGA in 03, and dominated UF and Bama in 04.

Every team wants 85 Joe Addais on their roster.

Agreed, Nick has earned the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the beef he had with Joe ultimately led to a change in habit for Joe.
1 upvote and 19 downvotes?? Really??

Look, I realize this board has an irrational hatred of all things Bama, but to deny that Nick Saban is one of the great coaches of all time is just delusional.

Given the insane number of great players Saban has had over the last 20 years (at both LSU and Alabama), and the almost total lack of negative words we've heard from former players -- yes, I give Saban the benefit of the doubt.

Considering Saban likes side pieces I doubt it was for banging Terri.

Or maybe, like you, Saban is just a petty fricking a-hole
Saban would sacrifice everything in existence to win.

I dont think he disliked Addai because he was a bitch to him one night at 31 flavors

Who should care in here about something like this?

Whether Saban liked Addai or not is so nit picking this legend. There is no coach that wished he had signed or not signed or given a player more or less chances etc. He is human. he will not like every one that he possibly shouldve.

Joseph went on to become a 1st round draft choice and play with Peyton Manning, i cant imagine today he gives 2 shits about this, why should this board.

But he isn't, but this is an LSU website and Saban went to Alabama. So it is what it is

I can remember listening to Saban’s weekly radio show and him using Addai as the perfect example of work ethic and consistency. He said it was difficult to get Joe to talk though.

Maybe because it’s a message board and Flynn and Hester just now made the comments?

nope, I'm my own guy, sitting over here in Atlanta.

Love or hate a guy, that's fine - just have enough intellectual honesty to have a reason over than blind homerism.

If Nick Saban left Bama to come back to LSU, this board would be singing his praises from the mountaintop. But because he wears the wrong colors, he's a bad guy. If Will Wade coached for any other school, this board would label him a cheater. But he wears P&G, so it's all good.

Hypocrisy.

So has Addai don't you think?

One is a pretty well known a-hole and has been called out as being dishonest and it's not Addai.

Joseph Addis seemed to be a yes sir, no sir young man. Met him on the practice fields one day on the north end where the rbs did some drills. He came across as intelligent and well spoken. When l saw him before a few games we talked in a friendly way.

He was no a-hole.

I wasn’t around him enough to know what his relationship with Saban was about , but he came across as a high character young man.

He certainly contributed greatly in 2004 but I would say Marcus Randall had a lot to do with that win also after JR shite the bed.
He also rolled them in 2005 in a game that we should have won by a couple of scores.
Joe was one of my favorite Tigers.

f saban didn't like him, he definitely had a good reason. i know you hate saban like the rest of us but, if he disliked a player, it was probably cuz said player was lazy, a smartass, or something like that. i doubt it was because saban just decided to dislike him for nothing.

Have you ever seen Addai play or listen to the young man. He was tough as nails and certainly wasn't lazy. He was also a very polite young man so he wasn't a smart arse.
He also had two 1,000 yard seasons with the Colts and has a SB ring.

There were a contingent of players he didn’t like. Some let him know how they felt after that loss to Iowa. JR being one of them. I lived by Addai and he was a good dude. It took him a while to become the player he was. His first few years he wasn’t even on the radar.

I know no facts.
But I side with Addai.

I don't know any facts either, but one of them is Addai and one is Saban. That is enough for me.
