I’d be willing to bet a years salary Addai is a better person than Saban

Didn't Addai have a paralyzed best friend in college so he requested the handicap accessible dorm then paid his medical bills once he went pro?

https://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/04/sports/football/04addai.html

quote:

After the accident, Addai put together two chairs and slept with Moore in the hospital room. He learned to bathe his friend, dress him and help him use the bathroom. When Addai went to Louisiana State, he got a dorm room that was wheelchair-accessible so that Moore could visit. They spent last April’s draft day together, celebrating Addai’s first-round selection by the Colts.

quote:

Addai grew uncomfortable when asked if he paid some of Moore’s bills. Beverly said he did pay for some things, but she did not want to lean on Addai.

“I just feel if I got in a real, real, real bind, I’d feel comfortable asking him,” she said.

Sounds like such a shitty guy

I’m just here to say the Tuesday after winning the super bowl with the colts, Joe Addai was attending a class I was in at LSU. I’ve just always thought that insane.

Sunday night he’s a super bowl champion with a hall of fame QB, Tuesday morning he straps on his book sack and goes to class

He came in and redshirted

He was a QB in HS.

We also had Toe and DD in 01. Why wouldn’t he redshirt?

quote:

His freshman year he got stats against teams like ULL

And Kentucky.

And we still had DD and Toefield in 02. That’s why he actually worked at receiver to try to get him on the field any way they could.

quote:

He had a decent year as a junior

From LSUsports.net bio:

quote:

JUNIOR SEASON (2004) All-purpose running back who ranked second on the squad in rushing and third on the team in receiving in 2004 ... Played in all 12 games ... Rushed 101 times for 680 yards and 3 TDs and caught 26 passes for 294 yards and 4 scores ... The 4 receiving TDs were the most by an LSU running back since 1989 when Eddie Fuller caught 9 TD passes ... The 26 receptions and 294 receiving yards were the most for an LSU running back since Eddie Fuller had 38 receptions for 477 yards in 1989 ... Rushed for a career-best 109 yards, including a 53-yard run, in win over Ole Miss ... A week earlier, had 99 yards rushing and 1 TD in 26-10 victory over Alabama ... Rushed for 90 or more yards 4 times in 2004

quote:

but a solid year as a senior.

quote:

SENIOR SEASON (2005) Talented runner who led the Tigers in rushing with 911 yards and 9 touchdowns ... Finished career with a bang, rushing for 130 yards and 1 TD in 40-3 win over Miami in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl ... Finished year ranked No. 7 in SEC in rushing with 90.1 yards per game ... His 9 rushing TDs ranked as the third-highest total in the league ... Played in all 13 games with 12 starts for the Tigers ... Rushed for 100 or more yards 5 times in 2005, which included breaking the century mark in 4 of LSU's first 6 contests ... Ran for a career-best 156 yards and 1 TD on 32 carries in win over Florida ... The 32 rushing attempts against Florida tied for the seventh-highest total in school history ... Slowed midway through season with an ankle injury

quote:

Never had 1000 yards rushing. Only got close once and look at the talent he got to play with.

quote:

CAREER Played in 51 games with 19 starts in his career with the Tigers ... Ranked No. 5 in school history in rushing with 2,577 yards to his credit ... Also ranked No. 5 in school history in receptions for a running back with 66 catches during his career ... Had 6 100-yard rushing games for the Tigers, which ties for the eighth highest total in school history ... His 490 rushing attempts ranks as No. 8 in school history ... In all, scored a total of 23 touchdowns during his career, 18 rushing and 5 receiving ... Graduated in December of 2005 with a degree in general studies.

The guy became our first 1st round RB in 15 years, became a Pro Bowler, won a SB (in a game where he set the record for catches by a RB), and generally never had a negative word said about him until this thread.

Not sure I’ve ever heard anyone talk about him as underachieving in any way

Would Saban Sacrifice a player's health?

Absolutely.

quote:

What about the reputation of the school he represents?

Pffft... small potatoes

quote:

What about his responsibilities as a father and a husband?

Are you kidding?

quote:

What abut his character?

Ask Candy about that one.

quote:

Would Saban sacrifice all (or any) of these things just to claim a win?

Sure he would. He doesn't have a conscience.

quote:

If so, what does that say about him as a man?

That if he wasn't a football coach he'd likely be a professional hit man.
