It's only two games, but i think baseball is turning the corner.

I like a lot of what I see happening with team. Ott appears to be coming around and finding his stuff. The defense is playing much better with only 1 error in the last 37 innings. The bats have been the issue lately, last night was a good sign with multiple players getting multiple hits.

Tall task this weekend. However, the way the tigers are starting to play, i think they can take 2 of 3. If they do, watch out! the team will start rolling.

They were not far off when they were playing poor defense, not having a dependable closer, and hitting poorly. They appear to be getting these things sured up. If so, this team could peak at the right time.

2 games is a great indication of turning a corner in baseball.

Right.

i wanted to say it BEFORE it happened. I don't think the w's and l's tell the entire story. I've been very critical of the team, not because of the l's, but because of the error's/poor defense.

i see things changing with this team that are good indicators that the w's will follow.

I believed it was only a matter of time the l's would come the way we were playing early. we depended on other teams error's to win the game. not depending on playing well.

i think lsu has been playing well for about 5 games now. the w's haven't fallen into place. if the bats start warming up as indicated last night, this team can start racking up some w's again.

The defense was very suspect last night. And there should have been at least 2 errors (didn't see the boxscore)...the pickoff that was thrown into the bullpen, and Ross' overthrow on the swinging bunt. Also, Dozar failed to get a glove on a squibber that he at least should have knocked down, and they couldn't execute a simple rundown play. The defense was the reason they would have lost last night had it not been for USM's ineptness as well.

Didn't USM commit an error which gave LSU the runs they needed to win?

Sorry but that botched rundown in the eigth shows the lack of fundamentals and discipline in the field. At the worst, the runner should have been forced back to first.

This team's knack for losing the late lead is crazy and tells me they lack confidence.

I hope they have some success this weekend and if they can somehow get 2/3 then maybe just maybe the wins will follow.

yes. if you don't beat yourself, a lot of times the other team will beat themselves.

U.S.M. is a quality team and lsu found a way to win last night. something lsu hasn't done lately.

Coaches usually quit telling players to run the baserunner back to the base he came from at around age 15. Not a single college or MLB coach tells their team that in a rundown, you should run him back to the original base.

LSU botched the run down, but it was because Dozar checked the runner at third and allowed the original base runner to reach second base. But at no point will a college coach say, "Well we didn't get an out in that rundown, but at least the runner went back to first."

Agreed, the only time you will see a coach maybe say something like that involving a rundown, is when it is between home and third. A lot of coached advocate running the man back to third to prevent a run if things go crazy.

They were actually hitting the ball yesterday. Still typical errors we've seen all year late in the game, but they were clutch in the bottom 8 when we needed it.

i listened to that train wreck in the bottom of the 8th. seemed clearly a case of USM wanting to lose worse than LSU did.

but, i hope the OP is right. we've turned the corner and hopefully not to find a Mack truck barreling down.
