It’s obvious Texas will now be our biggest rival in all sports

Even replacing Bama in football with Saban gone. Makes sense as a major university in a neighboring state with the most historically successful major sports programs.
Sure “Go to Hell Ole Miss” still applies but I don’t see Ole Miss sustaining the success in football over the long haul that Texas is capable of.
Our success against Texas will become our biggest measuring stick.
Looking forward to a fun and heated rivalry for the decades to come.

Everyone we play in the SEC has a bigger rival than LSU. This includes Texass.

How in the heck are we everybody's rival? The last time I checked most of the SEC schools already have a rival. For example, UGA vs Auburn, and Florida vs UGA. No matter what, A&M will always have Texas as their major rival. When I went to LSU, our biggest rival was Ole Miss. We even had a Go to Hell Ole Miss week. When I was in my second year, Ole Miss with Archie, beat us. That loss still stings. LSU was undefeated when Archie and company beat us in Jackson.

I wonder if Texas will be as good as many think they will be when they have to go thru the SEC gauntlet as opposed to Texas Tech than Houston than Iowa State, etc.?

This LSU alum doesn’t have it in me. I think Texas is a great university in a great town. They’ll be formidable competition for sure.

aTm, Oklahoma & Arkansas will always be bigger rivals to Texas than LSU. Those rivalries go way back and won’t be replaced. LSU doesn’t have a true rivalry anymore and is kind of hated by everyone in the west. Embrace it.

It’s ok to be a school without a true rival. Accept it and move on.
