I don’t think the players care about this nearly as much as the fans do. True rivalries are rare these days.

The SEC tried to manufacture an LSU-Arkansas rivalry after Arkansas joined the SEC and we quit playing Tulane. It never did catch on. Not to any large extent at least.

And no Miss State next year either.
I want our traditional opponents back.

...and Arkansas.

We shouldn't get rid of Auburn. If anything we should get rid of Missouri because they don't belong in the SEC. Neither does Oklahoma. At least Texas and Aggie kind of make sense in the SEC.

Can we always and forever put their band and fans somewhere un-fun? And forget to turn on the AC?

Yep, still mad about that.

Tulane is LSU's natural rival, especially when they were an SEC school, and Ole Miss is its current SEC rival. Just remember those two fan bases after each defeated LSU in football and remember how you felt watching them relishing the outcome. Both Tulane and Ole Miss fans are insufferable in victory. Ole Miss fans are the worst in the SEC when the team is winning.

What? Texas has bigger rivals in Aggie and Oklahoma.

And Arkansas. That hatred goes WAY back.

I'm pretty sure I'm forbidden by law to like Oklahoma, but setting that aside and being objective for a minute...the SEC should be happy to have OU. It's a solid school (great by SEC standards) with athletic success across multiple sports over a long period of time. They are always in the hunt in something (usually several) each year.

We'd be their 3rd biggest rival at best. Any Texas fan will put Oklahoma and A&M ahead of LSU in that category.

And we're only playing them every other year in football.

Ole Miss may have State as their in-state rival, but they view the Bulldogs as being inferior; just a minor pest.

But the Rebels HATE LSU. LSU has ruined so many OLE Miss seasons, games against the Tigers mean more to them than any others. Just look to last year as an example.

Rebel fans I know have learned about the rivalry with LSU since they were born, and they take it seriously. They're not joking when they say "Go To Hell, LSU!"

We are everyone's 2nd or 3rd biggest rival. On the other side, we can't decide whom our biggest rival is and it varies greatly among fans (usually by age). We have several big rivals, but I don't think we can really claim a biggest rival.

They will be a measuring stick. It will be fun. But LSU has more history with aTm than UT, not to mention the rest of the SEC.

Aggy and OU and Texas will form a nice little triangle of hate. LSU doesn’t fit into that group.
