It was too much money to fire BK the week before he was fired. The only opinions that matter are that of the money men. If they decide its enough, its enough.

I will say though, having a bad basketball team isn't near as detrimental as having a bad football team get destroyed on national TV.

Just the truth. He will get 1 more season.

Injuries have really plagued him.

Spoken like a BK supporter. See how that worked out.

Verge has already said this team must reach the NCAA Tournament. It will be lucky to win one more conference game, at home vs Oklahoma on Feb 28.

In the seats. Yes, they are fair weather, but they will come if you play important games

LSU no longer having a men’s basketball program is a valid suggestion? What a moron you are.

I continued to punish myself and watched McMahon’s post game presser last night. He was asked something to the effect of “how do you stay optimistic” when the losses are piling up. And he started his answer with that he was grateful for everything. I could be reading too much into it but it came across that he knows it is very much over.

I don't think he's a bad guy. And I do think he's had a lot of bad luck.

But it is what it is. Barring a miraculous SEC tourney win that spurs an NCAAT Sweet 16 appearance, I think this movie is over.

LSU doesn't have a men's basketball program really. They have a poorly coached group that loses almost every SEC game and is an embarrassment to the university and fans. Fans are so depressed that literally months before the start of baseball season the focus becomes on that sport. Once again, I made a valid suggestion IF they are unwilling to fire the coach. Maybe you are such a pathetic LOSER that you don't give a damn whether LSU is a laughing stock in sports or not.

dimwit!

John Brady - 2 bad years and then fired
Trent Johnson - 3 bad years and then fired
Johnny Jones - 2 bad years and then fired
Will Wade - 0 bad years and fired
Matt McMahon - 4 bad years and still not fired

LSU is not serious about basketball if they bring back McMahon.

I'd rather hire a great high school basketball coach on the super cheap for the next 2 seasons while paying McMahon his buyout than sit through another boring and less than lackluster season of McMahon, (edit - if money is the only reason we are retaining McMahon).

Lol, I'd just rather anyone but McMahon.

I have not seen anything in his 4 years that leads me to believe anything will change with him in a 5th year.

With the way Kelly's firing went down, no coach is getting fired unless somebody gives LSU money to do it.

Matt Moscona said something to the effect of LSU won’t fire him. The usual retards that follow him turned that into LSU is poor and hates basketball

Will take about $10 million to fire MM and staff, payable over 1-3 years.

No decent HC will come here UNLESS we also pony up at least $10 million in NIL over what Revenue sharing provides.

Chump change compared to what we lose if we keep him even just one more season.

You got one right. The governor wants Wade but so do the boosters. And Matt will be gone.

He did not. He said that was the expectation, and if they didn't reach that, they would evaluate the circumstances.
