Max Johnson just fricking sucks

not saying you are wrong, but he hasnt had any sort of coaching help at all, none, so maybe if he had a decent QB coach he could do better and maybe even be very good

but for now he cant hit the side of a barn he is so inaccurate with his throws

Max Johnson was a major part of the problem against KY. His worst game ever at LSU. Overthrew every other pass. Horrible and I have been a MJ supporter, but he isn't the same QB we saw at the end of the season last year because he refuses to run the ball. There are very few offenses in today's game that doesn't have a QB that can run the ball on occasion. He is no better, actually worse because he has a weaker arm than Brennan and no better than Finley if he is going to camp out in the folding pocket every pass play.
I want him to do well, but he has to change his ways.

This entire board goes absolutely apeshit with the most retarded fantasies whenever a coaching change is imminent.

What? You can't do that.

Baylor also got Jim Grobe to come out of retirement to be their interim coach after Briles was fired.

They won’t replace Peetz too. As far as Johnson goes, he should be upset, but more at himself than Peetz in the Kentucky game. Johnson played pretty bad. His mechanics were off and his accuracy was terrible.Although he was pressured from time to time, he had many chances with plenty of time and missed terribly. Do I think Peetz can do a better job? Absolutely, but it’s not all on him.

If you watched MJ’s postgame interview he was clearly upset. He’s not stupid. And he is a very good QB

He's a mediocre QB with horrendous pocket presence who is slow making reads. He can improve, but don't act like he's an authority on offenses when he's out there collapsing his own pocket.

Max has fallen off a bit since he lead the win against Miss St. He has got nervous feet and is missing wide open receivers running downfield. I don't know if he is told not to run but he had lots of opportunities to use his legs and he would run to the line of scrimmage and toss the ball 5 yards over the open man's head. Mostly all of the other successful QB's run when they have an opening.

Some more risky than others. The writing was on the freaking wall…I can’t call plays. I don’t know what it’s like to be an OC.

O is riding the ship and will be fired after the Arkansas game. Peet’s if he wants a job will be the WR coach.

He’s talking about mid season. Not happening. Wasn’t peetz a qbs coach in the nfl last year ? I’m sure he’s giving max good coaching , maybe he’s just not that great.

Peetz as an oc is different than peetz the qb coach. He’s probably a good qb coach especially for the college level

What? You can't do that. ?

I mean, there's not really any rules that say you can't.

Although it would be batshit crazy

I knew when Peetz and Jones were hired that we were in big trouble. They were both newbies who weren’t in demand anywhere, yet O hired them both as our coordinators.

This season’s implosion was predictable.

Max should worry about his own play. This guy rags every week about the coaching which is a bad sign. You don’t do that even when it’s warranted but especially when you’re playing poorly.

What about the defense? That is the most glaring issue to me besides the overall mismanagement and direction of the team. We are giving up 34 pts a game and only scoring 32 pts. Granted the offensive pts are misleading all things considered. Two new coordinators learning on the job and a QB that I'm not sold on that throws the ball with the wrong hand and struggles with accuracy.

maybe he’s playing poorly because of the bad coaching.

Remember Burrow was pedestrian in 2018 with loads of talent around him. Then the coaching changed and the Heisman Trophy winner was unleashed.

Coaching matters.

Coaching does matter but timing matters just as much. Chase was a freshman and wasn't the same chase.

Jetts wasn't jetts quite yet.
