it's understandable with all the major frickups miles had last night, and even more understandable since he gave up i think the fanbase is being light on him considering he quit last night

I'm not defending anything at all from last night. Believe me, I'm sick to my stomach about it.

But there have been posts about people wishing death on miles and shite like that. That isn't cool.

The offense needs to change no doubt. Qb play has been the culprit of bad offense the last few years. But after watching the o line last night, we need to improve greatly there too.

For some reason Les Miles thinks JJ is definitively the starter

yeah i really don't get it

i mean i think keiland was better than hester, but hester was still really productive and a good back

JJ is anti-productive

I think next year is going to piss a lot of people off. I think you're going to see a really solid passing offense and good decision making and it's going to make people so pissed he wasn't given a chance to play this past season

JMO though

The 2 Alabama games were the only conservative ones this year. I really just think he was intimidated. And I wanted to say he didn't trust his QBS, but damn, he stuck with Jefferson when he shouldn't have. So im not sure about that.

Last night's offensive wasn't "conservative," it was idiotic. Conservative offenses can put up points. LSU could absolutely wreck with a West Coast offense. But, it would take committing to said offense, which appears to be something our staff is just not interested in.

We lost '06 auburn from ridiculous conservative play no doubt. I was there at auburn in the stadium. Couldn't believe we didn't throw more because we were having success when we passed the ball.

I agree we need to be less conservative. But what are you advocating for here? Dana holgorsen type offense or Jim Mclwain?

Right, Hester got the job done which is why I was ok with it, but I think for many of us it was when we all started scratching our heads.

He needs to be a college football coach instead of acting like he's a friend with certain players.

It already pisses me off. JJ and Lee don't have the demeanor to play in the SEC. Listen to what Mett said after the game last night, his attitude alone blows JJ and Lee out of the water.

they threw like 2 passes over 10 yards, how can you not say it wasn't conservative?

and was running the ball in the 4th Q when the game was on the line; after it was already proven that we couldnt run the ball.

I believe Miles stated that Mettenberger was the best passing QB on the team once this year. It's my guess that people will be pissed because next year LSU still will not throw the ball more than 15 times a game.

The fullback dive play in the 4th quarter on third down was the worst call I have seen in football in a long time.

Lester, you have got to be the absolute worst at replying to posts without reading them. My point is that last night was worse than "conservative" play calling. It was simply "nonsensical." Plenty of "conservative" offenses would be capable of putting up big numbers. Alabama, Stanford, USC, etc all run "conservative" offenses.

I'm with you. But some people have taken things too far.

You see, this is the problem with you SUPERFANS. You single out the most extreme, fringe idiot fans that we have, and apply that to anyone who disagrees with you. I dare you to defend the 4th quarter play calling. I dare you. It's inexcusable. I don't want him gone, but we do deserve better than this:

15:00 LSU Rush: Kenny Hilliard rushed right for 2 yards.
14:45 LSU Rush: Kenny Hilliard up the middle for 1 yard.
14:10 LSU Rush: Michael Ford up the middle for 4 yards.
13:35 LSU Rush: Jordan Jefferson rushed right for 3 yards.
13:14 LSU Rush: J.C. Copeland up the middle for 1 yard.
13:00 LSU Punt: Brad Wing punted the ball 43 yards, out of bounds at the Alabama 17.
12:30 Alabama Rush: Trent Richardson up the middle to the Alabama 20 for 3 yards.
12:15 Alabama Rush: Trent Richardson up the middle to the Alabama 21 for 2 yards.
10:55 Alabama Sack: A.J. McCarron sacked by Kevin Minter for -7 yards.
10:30 Alabama Punt: Cody Mandell punted 52 yards from the Alabama 14 to the L-S-U 34. Tyrann Mathieu returned to the L-S-U 35 for 1 yard.
9:44 LSU Rush: Spencer Ware rushed right for 5 yards.
9:30 LSU Rush: Jordan Jefferson up the middle for 3 yards.
8:55 LSU Rush: Kenny Hilliard up the middle for 7 yards.
8:30 LSU Rush: Jordan Jefferson up the middle to the Alabama 31 for 19 yards.
8:10 LSU Rush: Michael Ford rushed left to the Alabama 35 for -3 yards.

more like USC

run the ball, especially a varied running attack (more zone cutback running plays off tackle)

change things up. run out of 3 WR sets (from under center) and pass on 1st down. go deep more often to keep safeties back and open up the running game

you can have an aggressive offense based around the run. you just have to get creative. we still almost 100% run up the gut out of traditional sets, and option out of the pistol/shotgun. thre is no variety

I don't think I have seen one person defend the play calling. I havent ever seen worse play calling. It was terrible. Bad gameplan over all.

Well yea, it was idiotic because it was so conservative.

last night that wasn't the problem. Last night I don't know what we were on offense. Bubble screens? 4 yard slants? Fullback dive to JC Copeland? The most poorly run speed options I have ever seen? Just a random mishmash of stuff.

To do anything successfully against a good defense, you have to have a quarterback, and we haven't had one since 2007.
